low GPA and medical residency

Hello guys .
I just graduated from medical college (IMG) but with a Low GPA unfortunately.
and I'm passionate to become an Ophthalmologist,
first, is the low GPA will Affecting my residency application?
second is there a thing that makes it up like good usmel score or research, latter of recommendation.

Do I still have a Hope >
