Low GPA, High MCAT Chances

Hey my friend has a 3.1 science GPA with a 39 on the MCAT. I was wondering what his chances are for a US medical school. Also he was looking at some post bachs but it seems most of the application dates had past. Anyone know if he can still get into one in CA?

I doubt he'll get into a CA school, but I'd say he has a reasonable chance of at least getting in somewhere if he applies very broadly and nails the rest of his application.
