I have been on a 'pre-interview hold' at Loyola for awhile and have been calling pretty much every Thursday to check on my status. So far nothing has changed...

Has anyone come off of a Loyola pre-interview hold and been offered an interview (or rejected)?

PS- I sent them updated transcripts over Christmas break and a letter of interest... I really really want to go there.

same hear, i sent an updated transcript over break. I have seen allot of people on hold or whatever Loyola calls it, that have really high stats. I think they do interviews very slow and they take there time. I dont know why so long but i am just trying to be patient. Good luck

they invite only 2-5 people per interview day...

they're really slow...

Same here. Apparently quite a few people have come from the re-review pile before. I keep calling and they keep saying I'm complete but not yet reviewed. I sent an update/interest letter too but I only sent my grades through AMCAS about a week ago.

Was on-hold at Loyola pre-interview all the way through 2006. Finally had an interview there during the first half of January. I agree with the OP that they tend to have interview days be very personal (3-5 students per day). Weekends there are a few more but even so, it might take them a while to get through the stack. Keep your head up!

I'm in the same boat and sent grades and a letter. They have weekend interviews? I wish all schools did that.

Sidenote... I thought you couldn't update the grades section of AMCAS? Even if the courses were marked as current/future. Can you send new transcripts and update your amcas? 😕

I sent new transcripts to AMCAS, I assume they update the grades.

actually, once your amcas is final, it's final. any updates on grades have to be sent individually to each school you applied to.

Well then theres a 6$ transcript fee wasted. I guess I assumed they would updae because that is how the Tmdsas system does it.

Ok, If I made an A, A-, A-, (Incomplete-still working on thesis, Incomplete in Mock Trial untill we compete), and C in Spanish II. should I go ahead and tell AMCAS schools? My overall AMCAS GPA is a 3.62 and the C will lower that slighlty. Also the past year and a half have been all A's now a C. I already sent a letter to Loyola but left out grades because I assumed they required AMCAS transcripts? Should I just e-mail my grades to them now?

don't update on your grades unless a school requires you to do so or it will help your case. no point to inform them that your gpa has gone down.

My thoughts as well. Good.

I know I have asked this before but I don't think I got a definitive answer...so sorry for the repeat.

Has anyone that was selected to complete a secondary been rejected by Loyola without being interviewed? Meaning do they keep everyone they have chosen not to interview up to this point in the "Hold for re-review" pile (which would be HUGE by now)? Or do they actually reject some people after having only looked at their secondary.

I'm limited to the Chicago area...so I was very limited in where I could apply and because I have only lived here for about 5 months I am technically counted as out of state for most of the schools when they evaluate my applications! The waiting is killing me!

your residency is only a factor at Rush and UIC, the other chicago schools have no significant residency preference. Loyola has a lot of illinois residents more because we want to stay here than any preference of the school.

i don't know for sure whether anyone has been rejected after the secondary, although my thoughts would be that there have been some. the hold for re-review pile is legitimate, and a great number of interviewees do come from that pile, even after significant waiting. several of my classmates were in that predicament and re-reviewed multiple times. additionally, about a third of the class comes off the waitlist, so if you are interviewed and waitlisted, even that is not the kiss of death that it is at many schools where waitlist movement borders on non-existent.
