MATCH ranking GPR programs that I didn't interview increase post match chance?

Hi everyone,

I am about to rank my programs of choice in MATCH system. I have received interview invites from 3 of 6 programs that I applied. I went to all my 3 interviews. But I still haven't heard a word from the other 3 programs.

I am thinking of ranking the programs that I didn't interview. Would my post match chance for the programs that I didn't interview increase if I do that and didn't get into my top 3 programs that I got interview?

No...no one sees ranking lists. Rank them if you want, it won't hurt...but it wont help either.

Now you could call/email them post match and tell them you ranked them but that's gonna do very little

You can but unless the programs rank you, you have no shot of being matched to them. I'm pretty sure no program will rank you without interviewing you but I may be wrong (though I wouldn't count on it haha).

If you do, I wouldn't go telling any of the programs that you did...it would just illuminate that you have no idea how the match system works and didn't bother to look into it.

I was offered a spot at Newark Beth but turned it down because I wanted to do the match. I was curious to know how many people from there go on to specialize. Did anyone match into ortho from Newark Beth for this year?

Do not bother ranking anywhere you did not interview. They will not have you on their ROL. Remember to rank the programs you did interview at in the order that best represents where you would like to go. Do not try and guess who wants you, it is impossible to tell.
