There's nothing brave about this. She probably has some really ****ed up psychiatric history to lead to such disinhibited behavior and abnormal sexual fetishism. I'd have a field day with her on my private consult couch.

Wow.

Based on the bolded I'm quite confident your sex life is riveting.

Everybody loves naked chicks. Don't be naive. The most seemingly uptight and conservative female doctor you know probably does stuff much nastier in her bedroom than pose nude.
Operative words right there....

What you do in private is private. What you do in public is public. Even if it's legal, you might want to be careful to think about how it will affect your future reputation.

Honestly, this thread has surprised me in a good way. It's nice to see that people for once are actually being realistic. Unfortunately, I still feel that there is an enormous disconnect between the way the medical students in this thread feel than program directors and the rest of society.

For example, if this girl was applying for any job in corporate America, and she was investigated on Google and the pictures were found, do you think that she would still be given a job offer? If she were a pre-med (yes, think back to those amazing days), do you think that a medical school would still accept her after finding these photos?

I'm a firm believer of private lives having nothing to do with one's work life. Somehow people managed to do just fine back in the days before social media, yet today we hear about people being rejected from jobs or even medical school because of the dirt that's dug up on social networking sites. It's very stupid since applicants were doing these very same things, or worse, during the pre-social networking days.

Also, with the amount of anger that's directed toward sexting and revenge porn websites, I just don't think that program directors, or the school administration would look kindly toward this. Like everyone else, I agree that her abilities as a physician would not be affected by this. But, I'm surprised that everyone is forgetting society's views on this. If people were as accepting as we are in this thread, then no one would have problems with sexting, revenge porn, or any other forms of amateur porn. In fact, I'm sure many girls would do pornographic photo shoots if there were no stigma and because they money is very good.

It's baffling. Really, it is. 😕 Also society sucks.

If she really is a medical student, I doubt she's American. I can't see how any student in this country would take that risk considering how uptight we are about this stuff in conjunction with the high cost of tuition... Just a guess.
Doesn't mean it hasn't been done, because I know it has.

I think most of us get it. Posting nudes with your uncovered face on the Internet is dumb because you open yourself to judgement from PDs, patients, etc. we all know how judgmental the world is, we are as judgmental of a group as any group out there.

Most of us just wish it wasn't that way and people would be less judgmental and quick to stereotype people. In the spirit of the original intent of the thread, I still don't see how this automatically makes her a poor future doctor.

It has nothing at all to do with her being a future doctor... but why is everyone defending her like mad right now? As if we need to all respect her desire to post nudes on the internet? People in here acting like it's the same as bashing a gay guy or something. What's with this PC crap lol It's complete attention whoring at it's finest. People acting like we're discriminating against her because she's doing such an average and well accepted activity.

Well, I've been arguing mostly from the viewpoint that 1) it's none of our business, 2) what she's doing isn't smart, and 3) she's ultimately responsible if her school or future PDs ever find out.

This is what comes to mind when I first entered this topic. The fact that her(and other med students that you don't hear about!) do this stuff doesn't impact anyone's life in this forum at all. The only person who could be impacted is her.

Yuuuuuuup. I believe I said earlier that women who bear all are awesome, and women who don't bear all are equally awesome. We're neither arguing that reality doesn't exist nor are we arguing that we have any place in this woman's life. What I'm arguing against is the notion that this kind of behavior is wrong and leads to worse patient care. What a residency director thinks is immaterial to this particular discussion, though I think that most of us understand that posting nude pictures with face showing is probably not the best idea from a defensive viewpoint.

None of our business? It's posted on the internet.... is the website even private where she's posting these pics? She's putting it out there for anybody in the world to go see. It doesn't affect my career but it doesn't stop me from making fun of her for being an attention *****, loser, etc.

Lol...she's a loser for doing that? I guess that "are med students judgmental?" thread has several examples within this thread 😛

I mean, you have every right to freely express insults. Even if everyone reading it would sigh and roll their eyes when doing so.

Just because it is posted online does not give you the right to judge someone as you see fit. You sit behind your computer. We have no idea what you look like or who you are; in all respects, you are anonymous. This young woman chose to share portions of herself with web. Reddit is a community that serves many different bases. A woman taking off her clothes does not make her anymore of an attention ***** than a medical student that spends 10-20+ hours a week posting on a student Doctors forums debating points. She is no more attention seeking than a blog writer or a person making youtube video's showing someone how to Dougie. Why make fun of her? why not ask yourself why is this woman posting these pictures.

Its things like this that lead to online bullying. Just because someone actions do not meet your definition of what is socially acceptable, does not mean that you have the right to judge them. Its one thing for you express an opinion as an individual however you are talking from the stance of a Medical student. My simple response is to get over it and move on. You'll see way more alarming things in medicine than a naked girl. Also at some point you will likely see a naked female physician that comes in as a patient. It really is no big deal. Its her business, her life and her happiness and ultimately her responsibility. I wonder how many people on here have tried illegal drugs, participated in illegal sexual activities or posted inappropriate things on Facebook. Just because you haven't been caught or you were more discrete does not make you any better than this girl and in many cases if its illegal, then it really makes you worst. Everyone lives in a glass house so no one should be throwing stones.

Dude you have no idea. Working outpatient psychiatry gives you so many ins with hot bat **** crazy 20 something bipolar chicks. Third year is best year.

Honestly, that's what I call a cool story bro. Such a riveting tale, I honestly copy and pasted it to word, saved on my hard drive, backed it up on a jump drive, drove to the bank, put the jump drive in the safe deposit box, and will leave it there until my kids turn about 12 (when they can actually state their age, and ask what it is I'm showing them), when I will pick it up, put it in an old USB drive reader and relay this cool story to them and tell them, "kids, this is what a cool story should look and sound like...not like the stories your generation tells."

Every time a med student tells me he's too busy for something, I'm gonna point to this thread to show how much time you guys really have on hand.

ppl catching feelings, especially the white nights and cinderellas saying it's none of our business. If it's on the net, it's everyone's business. Posting stupid **** on fb is ridiculous so how is this not ridiculous, especially giving away identity with the face. And I doubt she's a "medical school student". No one would be stupid enough to risk it. Medicine is a profession that you can't separate from life, it comes with inherent morals and ethics. Imagine if she was a med student going into peds, would you be comfortable taking your kids to this doctor?

personally i'd never miss an appointment. especially when the weather is right for tight fitting sweaters.

what kind of question is that? Are you suggesting that this lady posting nude photos online will somehow see patients naked too? or are you suggesting that she will turn your children into porn stars?

Also, priests have a much worse history of molesting children than either sluts or MD's. Yet there are tons of parents taking their children going to church all the time. So yeah...

It sad that pre-meds nowadays already have as big of an ego as a surgeon's.

Since we've all decided to add our 2 cents to this philosophical topic...
Personally, I would feel differently if she just posed nude with no reference to her medical career. That's her personal private life and she's not looking for trouble. If she's actually bringing attention to the fact that she's a medical student and posing nude - yeah...she's asking for people like the religious nutjob to prejudge her value, her character, her sexual mores, etc.
I'm a big fan of live your life as you see fit, but don't advertise it to disrupt convention or etiquette. They usually exist for a reason. I'd respect her brain more if she was a super hoebag that just keeps it under wraps instead of advertising her wares to the undiscerning public. Based on that alone, I wouldn't hire her. She makes poor choices.
As for the OP...what in the world is wrong with you? There are tons of slutty male and female doctors. Genuine perverts too. Get over it. Next.

Yes and no, there are some messed up social conventions that ought to be changed. If change never happened, today we would all still think that racism is ok, and females should not receive education.

Absolutely not. She's practically a murderer, or a convicted rapist.

Absolutely. Doctors not advertising their goodies on the internet is on my list of good social conventions. It could be a simple matter of taste - I'd like some refinement left to the field.

One person posting nudies and the whole field's unrefined now?

When I say it's none of our business, what I meant was that I would never have known about this girl until someone decided to create a thread in this forum and directly link to her profile. Unless she's directly compromising patient care, it's not really any business of ours to bring it to our school's or PD's attention.

She's the one who chose to leave her face and status in her profile; she has to deal with the consequences of that if higher-ups find out.

There's no way you can read this thread and not think white knight, beta in your head 100+ times. Fuark

No one is rescuing her from anything; if she gets expelled then so be it. I personally don't think posting nudes online is the brightest of ideas, but she's the one that has to deal with the consequences if someone important finds out.

But, Prowler, she has breasts! How can you expose your children to someone like that!

oh god, if there's one thing that young children shouldn't see, it's breasts. those little perverts will want to put their mouths on that nipple and just suckle on it all day. absolutely disgusting.

Kids are not the only ones that want to do that. letsbeserious

hahah good for u white knights. It's a serious question. In the medical profession, you can't separate your personal life from professional life. What's done in the bedroom should stay in the bedroom. I don't care if doctors do kinky stuff but it should be private not out for the public to see. And it's not about ego, it's about social conventions, feel free to change them and live in your own little world. Some social conventions are not meant to be changed, would be the same if a guy posed naked, it's not about racism or sexism. Seriously some white knights in this thread. I would smash that sloot tho, no doubt.

I bet a lot of these little white knights coming to her defense are the same 1s that would be hating on a guy for posing naked, since it's big breasts they are mesmerized....lol they probably haven't been getting any, sry folks, step ur game up.

Why do people throw around the white knight word? It would be the same deal if it were a guy. Besides, I'm not into that team, so there is no desire for sexy time with a random girl who I will never see. As well as everyone on this forum 😛

And remember, there are hundreds of med students who also do this stuff....so if you actually are angry at her for doing it, you are gonna be angry at more people. Hell, the girl sitting a row behind you in class could have post nude pictures too!

Mods, can Lakers be banned? Thanks.

I'm not angry at her at all, just don't think it's apt. I kind of dig it. I guess I need to talk with that girl then😉

It's too bad most of the other people posting pictures are not craving for attention or revealing their identities. There is a reason they say keep your social networking private when applying for med school/ residency. Certain things just aren't appropriate.

Mods, can Lakers be banned? Thanks.

Banned for expressing my point of view? Then all the other ppl should be banned as wel. And it seems like your empty posts don't contribute much to the thread. Maybe you should be banned if you can't handle a discussion like a man. Stop crying and grow up, not everyone's gonna agree with you or like you, don't shed tears over that. but seriously man, don't take these things too seriously.

Not sure what butthurt means. But unless it means annoyed, then no. I told hughmyron to get the ghetto crap out of here, and I'm telling you the same.

What's ghetto crap? being a little assuming? haha sounds like you really are mad. You are being judgemental, you sound quite bitter. I see one of your posts you asked someone "you get pretty angry at people with opinions different from yourself"? Seems like you are the type who can't handle a civil debate without getting heated or shedding tears.
