Hi there does anyone know what sort of opportunities there are for army doctors or veterinarians to be a part of special forces? And which one, doctor or vet, has more opportunities for being in sf? Thanks

What have you learned so far through your research into this topic?
So far not much (which is why I'm asking) it seems to me there are more opportunities for medics but I just didn't find that much info for vets. There are actual jobs as a special forces medical sergeant.

Anecdotally, a lot of the doc/vets in sf were tabbed as enlisted, served time, and then went back to professional school before rejoining as officers

Not a whole lot of vets/docs tabbing after school according to the sf med students I know

Last I heard, special forces stopped training docs through the Q course about a year ago. For the brigade surgeons attached to the green berets, you get your on the job learning, but nothing formal. You could enlist in the Army and become a special forces medic or even become a line officer, but don't expect to be an operator if you take a direct commission as a physician.
