Memes of Podiatry

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Man, the stories we can all tell... I spent a month as a student at a VA close to home and really wanted to like it. It was borderline degrading. 100 nail patients every day, one half day a week for surgeries. The surgery logs were entirely made up, and all their RRA numbers were from outside rotations watching other attendings/residents cut. I'll never forget the program director telling me "what you see is what you get here", like he had no shame in admitting the program he was running is garbage.

Maybe it's my fantasy in thinking that every director has an enormous responsibility in training the next generation of pods to be competent medical and surgical providers, and at the very least to not harm patients. If programs can't even clear that, the lowest of bars, what is even the point of CPME 320 and site evaluators? Either they are entirely incompetent in safeguarding our training / look the other way, or these programs commit massive fraud, and I can't decide which is worse. Venting... anyway who's next for making the new set of memes?

Oh we already know that the CPME 420 nonsense is just blowing smoke up our arses at a similar CFM to a leaf blower.

Couldn’t agree more with this, always thought it was crazy we have our office on Fillmore St in San Fran, one of the most overpriced areas in one of the most overpriced cities in the country. Get out of that POS overpriced city.
Funny meme BTW

Boards are going to be located in pricey metro areas, probably for historical reasons more than anything else "we've always been here" etc. Also if they ever move don't think they'll pass the savings onto us. Both the internal med and gen surg boards are located in Philadelphia. Ortho is in Chapel Hill NC. ABLES is in Evanston IL (outside Chicago) and ABMSP is in Morristown NJ.

Why can't they all leave city life behind and relax in sunny Hermosa Beach CA?

I found this on my linkedin feed today. Not sure it needs a caption.
I can say with absolute certainty you will cut toenails for many months all day everyday. The elderly podiatrist employed by KSUCPM who run the in house clinics, operate a toenail factory.

Sh***t rolls down hill and as a student you have the honor of standing at the end of the hill with your mouth wide open, while paying thousands of dollars for the experience.

What do you mean? You don't regularly gown and glove in exam rooms when doing ingrown procedures like some of the "attendings" (calling them that is generous) do?

KSUCPM is a joke.
