Man, the stories we can all tell... I spent a month as a student at a VA close to home and really wanted to like it. It was borderline degrading. 100 nail patients every day, one half day a week for surgeries. The surgery logs were entirely made up, and all their RRA numbers were from outside rotations watching other attendings/residents cut. I'll never forget the program director telling me "what you see is what you get here", like he had no shame in admitting the program he was running is garbage.
Maybe it's my fantasy in thinking that every director has an enormous responsibility in training the next generation of pods to be competent medical and surgical providers, and at the very least to not harm patients. If programs can't even clear that, the lowest of bars, what is even the point of CPME 320 and site evaluators? Either they are entirely incompetent in safeguarding our training / look the other way, or these programs commit massive fraud, and I can't decide which is worse. Venting... anyway who's next for making the new set of memes?
Oh we already know that the CPME 420 nonsense is just blowing smoke up our arses at a similar CFM to a leaf blower.
