I’m still waiting for a reply to this from any of our professional orgs. Waiting. We pay our dues to you but you can’t even reply to our memes?????
Hey now, there are probably 15 podiatry jobs on podiatrycareers...
sometimes 10+ on usajobs (most already filled)...
another 25 on podiatryexchange...
might be 35 on apma classifieds...
maybe 100+ on indeed (half mobile podiatry).
So, what else do you want? That's about 200 jobs... plenty for the grads and exp DPMs looking to switch.
There were only 550 or so DPMs who finished a residency last summer... and roughly the same upcoming next month.
New pod schools will add to the theatrics... will they all get residency? Will the residencies be any good? Where
will they all work?
Remember, "most jobs in podiatry are word of mouth"... and that's why VA jobs in crummy locations get 400 apps.
🙂
You don't want the podiatry officers and delegates and presidents to have less dues coming in, do you?
If APMA loses power, NPs might start cutting toenails or RNs might debride a wound. Uh-oh... world-off-its-axis stuff.
We can't have less residencies and colleges to keep re-accrediting, that'd remove people's positions and the associated checks.
Without new schools, there aren't professor jobs and dean jobs and mandatory budgets based on those students.
...And PS, quit paying your dues (even if the hospital / allowance pays them)...
vote with your feet.
The way the system is set up, that's all you really can do. The pleas and suggestions of change to CPME, etc fall on deaf ears... always have. It's not a $ystem built for change.
