Hey all! Is this week an acceptance email week? 🙂
 
I just spoke with the admissions office, and they said the last round of acceptances will be sent out in 2 weeks. The lady said that all rejection/alternate letters will go out mid-March...

Kinda wish they sent out the rejections first...instead I keep getting my hopes up that maybe I still have a chance. Oh well guess ill have to wait and see until march
 
I will be declining my acceptance to Michigan.

I just saw my acceptance today!! (so really excited about that!) but it was in my spam folder!!! I originally got it Friday morning at 7am but didn't see it till about 4 hours ago. Whoops 😛. So be sure to check your spam/junk folder for those of you still waiting.

I just sent a reply to the initial acceptance email. They emailed me back so I'm guessing it was appropriate. I figured since they only communicated with me through email that it would be fine for me to just email them as well.

A question though, I emailed a few days ago to decline and they responded quickly. A day or two later i was emailed the schedule for welcome day on Friday. Should I email them again saying I'm not coming to welcome day? I thought they would have figured that out...

Just got back from spring break in Mexico and no acceptance email 🙁 🙁 🙁
 
I got my denial letter in the mail today. 🙁
 
Rejected. What a great thing to come home to after spring break... 🙁
 
My mail box lock is jammed... Guess I will have to wait until tomorrow for the inevitable rejection letter 🙁
 
I'm IS and have not received an acceptance email or a rejection letter. I figured I would get the letter when I got back from Spring Break but haven't yet. I'm really confused... Maybe I will drop by their office if I don't hear anything by Friday.

I'm OOS and haven't heard anything either... I'm assuming its either wait list or rejection 🙁
 
I received a rejection letter today in the mail. 🙁. Im out of state and am currently wait listed at my instate school and another school.. This sucks!
 
Does anyone know if they still have acceptances to send out? Or is it just wait list and rejections left?
 
Anyone been waitlisted yet? Or know if notifications for the waitlist are via email or snail mail?
 
Rejected OOS! Oh well, makes my decision much easier now 🙂

Last acceptances were sent out last Friday, March 8th🙁

I think they just sent out the last of the rejections today, not sure about waitlist letters, though.
 
I'll keep my fingers crossed for those of you that haven't heard anything yet. :xf: I hope some alternate letters were also sent out with those rejections. I'm sorry to hear about anyone who was rejected.


I attended the welcome day on March 8th in hopes that I could finally choose between MSUs. Here are my thoughts: There were a few things that didn't impress me at all (and the presentations were mainly about stuff that I already knew or that didn't pertain to me), but I'm glad I was able to visit. Of the schools I've toured, this was the first one to have a place set-aside for wildlife. We got a special tour of the wildlife rooms since the veterinarian who takes care of them happened to be there at that time. I really liked the idea of the learning and assessment center, and the calving simulator seems to be very cool. The faculty seemed to be very friendly and helpful, and I liked what I saw of student/faculty interactions. My favorite part, though, was the diagnostic center. I was VERY impressed with the place, and the people who gave us the tour were fun to speak with. Unfortunately, veterinary students only have a 3-week rotation there unless they opt to do another. During my visit, I didn't experience the type of atmosphere I was looking for (except in the diagnostic center), so I think I will be attending the other MSU. However, I wouldn't mind traveling to Michigan to spend a few weeks in the diagnostic center during my last year of veterinary school. 🙂

For those of you worried about tuition costs as an out-of-state student, they did mention something about a partial tuition reimbursement for those who are hired full-time in Michigan following graduation from veterinary school.

I received a waitlist via snail mail today, but being IS, I'm not holding my breath too much.
 
Rejected IS sad day =( Guess I will be meeting with them to see how to improve.
 
Did your letter say something about having a significant alternate status?

Mine just said, "your alternate status is a significant one. This reflects our confidence, blah blah blah". I guess I kind of took that as offering some kind of condolence/ motivation to keep at it.
 
No letter for me yet... Just give me the rejection alreadyyy jeez
 
I still have not heard anything from MSU... Is that strange?
 
Got the letter yesterday waitlisted OOS that makes the 6th school i'm waitlisted at, guess it's time to start setting up file reviews.
 
Got my alternate letter today, but I've accepted my IS offer, so I will be getting off MSU's list ASAP so someone else can get closer 🙂
 
Still haven't heard anything. Tried calling, but their answering system is impossible. Tried leaving a message three times and it kept cutting me off. Not to mention that 5 minute lecture you have to listen to before you even get the voicemail...
 
No word here either 🙁 Prolonging a rejection is the worst!
 
It would have been nice if MSU had sent me an admissions decision.... Kind of disappointed in their admissions process/communication. I am going to guess I was rejected since April 15 is right around the corner!
