Could someone care to enlighten me on this subject.

Why is there a midlevel forum on a studentDOCTOR network? Theses guys are not physicians.

The previous forum was a 'debate' forum. IT wasnt a "midlevel " forum.

Dont the midlevels have allnurses, etc???Why are we giving them a platform?

Seems to be a nice bin to store all the inflammatory threads that are so routinely created. You can't make them all go away, and deleting the threads in the general forum would seem oppressive to a vocal minority.

It's kind of like the foreign film aisle in Blockbuster. You can't ignore the foreign film market, but the average American with a membership to Blockbuster isn't not exactly digging foreign films. I've been down that aisle before, and it's got the same 40 movies for the past decade (Chocolat and 5 other movies with Julia Ormond, etc.) If you took that aisle away, though, man, there would be hell to pay.

It wouldn't just be a place for militant CRNAs. There are some CRNAs and AAs on this site that may choose to discuss things that are especially pertinent to them, and may not be to physcians. An example would be the "Those Applying to AA School" thread on the clinicians forum.

Plus, I imagine that most "debates" will still be shuffled off to that forum.

There seems to be a lot of interest in discussing the issue of midlevels and their role and impact on the profession of anesthesiology. Based on member feedback and discussion with area staff, we decided to retask the "CRNA Debate" forum for this broader purpose.

Which members?

The midlevel ones?

The name "CRNA Debates" actually seemed to endorse endless and useless discussions with militant CRNA who came to this forum for only one agenda "spreading propaganda" in the name of debate.
A debate is only useful when both sides are open minded and willing to learn the other's point of view. This unfortunately was never the case.
The name "Midlevel providers" gives that forum a more useful function and also encourages AA's to participate since they previously felt that they were ignored.
The forum remains a student/doctor forum and it will not be allowed to become a "platform" for anyone to spread anti-physician propaganda.

Well, I know I appreciate having it. And although it is the student doctor network, there are thousands of non physicians here as well, as you can tell fe the forum homepage.

I would think that anesthesiologists would be happy to have an area where there can be encouraging and positive discussion about AA's rather than the constant inflammatory arguments about CRNA's.
