Midwestern University - Glendale

$1,000. If you end up attending, they just put it towards your first year's tuition. If you end up not attending after you pay your deposit, then MWU just made the easiest $1,000 ever. Not a bad business plan.

interviewed today and literally just got my acceptance and deposit request. good luck to everyone else!

Declining my acceptance, good luck everybody 🙂

I also interviewed today-- and I was also accepted on the portal a few hours later!

As far as the interview goes-- its really laid back and there is a TON of down time waiting for your interview. I think that the wait time is so long because of the new 3 on 1 interview, and they haven't really gotten a chance to work out the kinks yet. The students we met today were all really awesome, and gave great insight into the school!

Also, the interview questions were generic, so don't stress over it too much.

same here. interviewed on the 11th and the portal changed only hours after the interview and asked me to pay the $1000 deposit.

Congrats to everyone who has gotten accepted so far.

I'm a first year and a student ambassador. I was at the 9/27 interview and I'll be at the 11/1 interview. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them for you.

I have a question regarding the Midwestern interview and deposit fee. So when i take the interview how many days or weeks does it take for the admissions to get back at me?. My second question concerns the $1000 deposit fee. So after getting accepted, I've read most people have $1000 balances already set in their accounts. Does it mean If i don't pay the fee my application will be canceled?

Im asking because I want to see if I will get into my other school of choice. I don't want to rush into paying such a large sum only for something to come up.

It seems the admissions committee meets fairly quickly... I think first round of interviews (09/27 and 09/30) heard back on 10/01 and the second round of interviews last Friday heard the day of.

I think it would take a maximum of 2 weeks to hear back from this school in particular.

You have to pay the $1000 by the deadline, if you are to reserve your spot. They gave us a little over 3 weeks (3.5 weeks) to either accept or decline and put the $1000 down, but I've heard you can ask for an extension (which typically you will be allotted 2 extra weeks).

If I were you (and if you have an interview for your other school, depending on when it is), I would try and push back your Midwestern interview, so that you hear back from both schools around the same time.

Good luck!

For those who already had their interview, did you receive generic questions like tell me about yourself, why MWU, why pharmacy, etc., or did they ask anything else? I've already gone through the interview feedback on here, but was just wondering what kind of questions people got this year 🙂
I also was asked: give an example of when you went above and beyond your call of duty? Like what other people have said the interview was super short and the faulty was pretty nice

I'm also interviewing this Friday. Good luck to us.🙂

The interview isn't bad at all. During my interview, they had asked me a question I didn't know how to answer. One of my interviewers tried to gear me towards thinking about my experiences and how I could use that to answer the question. I got in 🙂 lol But don't worry, they're really nice.

Thanks! Do you know how many applicants they interview a day? I tend to get nervous to see a lot of people around me 🙁. If you don't mind me asking, what was the question they asked that you didn't know the answer to it?

When was your interview? I interviewed on monday 10/14 but still didnt hear back from them

On my interview day there were 24 of us. All of the faculty were really nice and I had a lot of fun in my interview. I think they value honesty, even if you don't know how to answer a question.

I interviewed on 10/11. We found out the day of. I think the admissions committee just happened to meet that day. Did you check the MWU portal? They update the portal before sending an email/calling. I got a call from them Monday letting me know I was accepted and received an acceptance email yesterday.

Anyone interviewing this friday?! :scared:

I AM!!! I will be the extremely tall thin person lol. Anybody who sees this you can say hi to me so we can all make this experience more comfortable.:highfive:

Hello! I just got invited to interview! Is anyone else going on Nov 4th? 🙂

i will be there on Nov. 4th! See you there=)

Anyone who interviewed on Monday 10/14th get a response from the school yet? They told us we will hear back from them today.

I haven't been notified yet, but I checked my account on Midwestern University Net and they updated my account. Not sure what this means, but check yours and let me know what you make of it. =)

Mine does not have any changes. It just reads "this checklist is available to accepted students" and then blank. What does your say?

For mine it shows the required documents, transcripts, and prerequisites with a check mark or X depending on what is completed. For Matriculation/Payment it says to check back tomorrow.

I interviewed on the 14th and it was a lot less stressful than I previously believed.

I got my acceptance very soon after. 🙂

Really focus on your patient experiences, at least the questions they were asking me were really related to what experiences make a good pharmacist and such.

Good luck everyone!!!!

I also did not find a Facebook group yet for those who were accepted, so I made a group called:

Midwestern CPG Class of 2017 🙂

Please let me know if it is easy to find or someone already made one and I missed it.

Again, Good Luck Everyone!!!

If your portal updated to show the accepted student checklist it is very likely you are in. Congrats all!

Did anyone receive the matriculation/payment of the 1,000$ who interviewed on 10/18?

I was interviewed on 10/14. For my matriculation/payment page it says, "Your information is currently being processed. Please check back tomorrow." Not sure what this means, but its been like this for the last 2 days.

I called because mine said the same thing and they said congratulations you're in! They said those who could see the accepted student checklist were in and should get a call next week. My matriculation payment link said the same thing (being processed) and I know a second year there that said hers did that too when she was accepted and she had to wait until Monday to pay.

I got interviewed on 10/14, but still didn't hear back from them. So it means I got rejected right? will they send an official email stating i am rejected?

I didn't get a call yet or an email but just check your portal. Mine said my matriculation payment was being processed but I saw the accepted student checklist so check that. And I called to ask what it meant and if you can see the checklist you're in but everyone should be getting calls this week.

I interviewed on 10/18, portal showed the accepted student checklist by Friday evening and option to pay deposit came up this morning. The faculty and interview process was extremely comfortable and it was great to meet possible future classmates!

Hi, my prerequisite GPA is 3.9, science and math 4.0, but I still have Organic 2 and microbiology to complete this fall. All of my prereq are from community college. My first time PCAT is 64 (Chem 93, Bio 75, Math 39🙁🙁. Is there any chance for me? I am completing the supp app for this school. Thanks guys.

With a 3.9, I think you should be fine. If you're concerned about your PCAT, then sign up for a retake. However, I think your gpa will put you in a very good position as far as being offered an interview. Also, there's no supplemental for this school this year (or am I missing something?) Good luck!

There is supplemental. There are a lot to do in it, answering 2 essay questions and upload a resume too. Thanks for your reply. It comforts me a lot.

This is Midwestern Glendale we're talking about, right? I know there's one for the Chicago campus, but I'm not seeing one under the Glendale campus... Maybe I'm just not seeing it... 😕

Anyone receive a call or e-mail about their admission status yet?

That's what I said, so thanks for confirming. The other 2 posters from above got me wondering if they stumbled into the wrong thread... 😀

The portal has been down the whole day today. How did you see your deposit option thing? Just wondering...

Is it just me or is there anyone else having problems accessing the portal?

I received two different calls-- one from a professor and one from the admissions office. Both of them confirmed my acceptance. However, I 'knew' I was accepted before the call, my portal changed a few days before to an "accepted student checklist". I would keep checking your portal first. Good Luck! 🙂

oh ok thanks! Yeah my portal has updated already asking for a deposit. I was just wondering how they contact you about the acceptance. I was interviewed last Monday.

Well first off, I can't find the official Facebook page? is it private? can someone post the link? 🙂

Second, has anyone accepted their acceptance and paid the deposit? I recently paid it! but i'm still not sure as to which campus I like better, Glendale or Arizona.

Which leads me to my last question for the student ambassador: why did you choose Glendale? How are you doing with the course-load, is it manageable? I won't be finishing my degree, so I will only be 21 when starting in June and it makes me worried

Here is the facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/209679985879637/

If it doesn't work, let me know! It's Midwestern CPG Class of 2017 😀
There are only two people right now, but it will grow once more are accepted like the other Midwestern CPG groups.

There is a second year in the group for anyone who has questions and I live right across the street from the Glendale campus so if you add the fb group, you can message me anytime. 🙂

I prefer Glendale and I had many friends go to Arizona in Tucson for undergrad so I knew the area well and lived in Phoenix my whole life.

I know a ton of second years and while they do get stressed from it being accelerated, they are all managing quite well. 🙂

how did you guess ladies and guys dress? Should we wear glasses to look smarter? Women- heels or danskos or casual black shoes? Earrings? Hair up, curled, or ponytail? I'm pretty nervous on how to look in the interview.

as far as reading through I see that many of you got accepted
I have a gpa of 3.01 and PCAt of 56 ( 34 math, 92 bio, 85 chem, very loow on verbal and reading) and I have only 6 months pharmacy experience, Do I have a shot for an interview,
and would anyone suggest how to prepare for the interview and what kind of questions were asked, was it a group interview or one-on-one.

Thank you in advance 🙂

I recommend you retake your PCAT. Each subscore should be at least 50.

See pages 1 and 2 of this thread for interview questions and format.
