Long story short, I was rushing through a secondary's questions and didn't fully read the one about having a criminal record and clicked "No" when I should have clicked "Yes." What should I include in a brief update letter explaining this? What happened, how what I learned from it, and that's it?

I pled guilty to a minor in possession charge 6 years ago when I was 18, paid a fine, it was either sealed or expunged (so long ago I don't remember which...), and that was that.

1) this is why applicants shouldnt rush
2) you need to update them
3) you update solely with the facts that the question asked;
---not lessons learned
---not excuses as to why
---not as to why you rushed thru and missed the question
---but with the facts so find out what specifically you were charged with and with disposition of the case (ie sealed or expunged).
Gracias!

*sigh*...and people wonder why MCAT has a CARS section.

Good thing I know how to read so I won't, then!
And yet...."I was rushing through a secondary's questions and didn't fully read the one about having a criminal record and clicked "No" when I should have clicked "Yes.""

SDNers are advised that the med school app process is a negative selection process, because when a school gets 7000-14000 apps, one has to find ways to rapidly weed out the pool.
