Yes. Basically like it was part of the role. Like a 1x seer ability but in the form of using an item.
If it's easier, just view it as a 1x seer because the item might've been flavor lol

I thought this at first too and thought it was a wolf item but PSV said she had it from game start.

Either KJQ was targeted with something that made her red check (maybe fits with the possible multiple loud actions on her last night?) or PSV was targeted to make her item give a red check. I think the former sounds the most likely but we all know how I feel about assumptions around mechanics

Mostly it's the phrase Digital Injection that stuck out to me. It sounds like something that would happen to a "computer device" rather than a person.

I agree somewhat. I'm content to let this lie for now unless I get to a stage where I need to start tinfoiling.

okay so KJQ was sabotaged. one out of the 2 people who visited her was PSV who used the seer ability, but it was essentially intercepted by whoever else went to visit her that night. interesting that they chose to sabotage her.

she could have been the target due to her persistence that GB was miller, and we were questioning why she was so sure.

unfortunately, wolf could have either taken the route of believing her publicly and then sabotaging her, or opposed her, then sabotaged her to then point the finger back at her when it was revealed.

PSV is moving up my list for these reasons, i dont think she’s scum because there’s absolutely no way that 2 people visited KJQ AND PSV used an item and it didnt know.

KJQ’s message about more than one person being involved with her has to include PSV.

I think both are possible. I could see scum having a "framing" role to make seering results give false readings. I could also envision scum having something like an item saboteur role, where they target a player and tamper with items that player has to make them malfunction.

Since PSV didn't get a notification but KJQ did, I think KJQ is the more likely target, but the file reads to me more like it was the device that was messed with, implying there's an item saboteur. I'm probably reading into the flavor too much, and it was just that KJQ was framed, but I don't want to discount the idea entirely.

Alright, I do have access. The flavor does imply data tampering with the item itself. The odds of several people targeting KJQ on N1 feels low, but anything can happen in mafia 🥲

i want to say the target was KJQ and PSV just happened to check KJQ the night they tampered with her role. its safe to assume that if it wasn’t PSV who used their seer ability, another watcher/inves/tracker would have checked KJQ and have seen their role scrambled. it was just extremely unfortunate timing.

my understanding from this and previous game is KJQ was a pretty outspoken player who can really stir up the thread and stoke some opposition among others. so she can be pretty controversial. so, i won't be surprised if wolves or 3P (based on earlier discussions i think from SAR and others entertaining the situation of a 3P existing) acted on KJQ that messed up the seering results.

so i think yeeting PSV is a bad idea and what we have is a nasty glitch in the mechanics.

but given KJQ's outspoken and controversial nature, my bet is wolves took advantage of the antagonistic interactions KJQ was getting piled on and wanted her gone.

Assuming the file is to be trusted, this more or less hard confirms PSV's story and she is hard clear town for me. The only situation in which it doesn't is if PSV's mafia role somehow can produce a file that lies about the previous lie, and that's too deep of a hole to bother with.

Zenge going to get access and then sharing this information is pretty anti-wolf to me.

Those two are my townies right now. Everyone else I feel like I need to reevaluate.

I would prefer to play in the worst case scenario, truthfully. You’re hinging the game on the small CHANCE we have a watcher and they will be able to hit their target next night.
