Monster Mash WW - Sign Ups and Game Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Also I'm wondering about coffee, I don't see the wolves letting her draw this much attention to herself on thread unless they're all noobs (which is possible, there are many in this game) or unless they're intending.

I'd also love to hear more from stella. I know this has been beat to death but being quiet is a great place for a wolf to hide so the longer she is this quiet and not adding much of value the more likely I am to vote there (so share your thoughts! even if you feel iffy about them. I know it can be intimidating as a noob, I'm still basically a noob too so I feel ya)
***intending to make her a sacrificial bussing lamb

sorry got distracted by my rotation mates asking me about all the sugar glider things and reminiscing about how full of gliders my house was before vet school :biglove:

I agree that haxx didn't give much there. Maybe I'm just closed minded but I feel like there are bigger bears to poke, if you will, than two people who were confirmed as village yesterday.

This is true, but the whole village is in danger if we place too much trust in any one person's opinion on who is wolf that isn't a seer, no matter how cleared the villager.

Haxx isn't a noob, but especially as a noob, I was inclined to follow other people's logic, including wolves and cleared villagers.

You do have to build trust in the game and put people in your village pile, yeah, but you can't just follow the leader.

I mean, so far this game we've all voted wrong. Even our seer.

I just want to be sure we don't get complacent.

No he really wanted you dead, he probably submitted the kill that night, but then was killed instead. Only a stupid vigilante fires shots before they are really sure about something. LIS is many things, grump, crotchety, maybe even a little crusty, but definitely not stupid.
Said with love 😍

Lynch Cray
As far as I'm concerned, she had the time to switch and didn't. Weim looks better than snowy did but I'm still highly suspicious because of snowy's absolute blunder. Coffee needs to go too if simply due to egg cracking so I'm ok with that lynch.

AM I'm loving your play today, sorry I was seriously wrong about you.

Ok, but none of those are really on the docket for today, right?

So if you really want to save AM (I don't particularly want to, but I do want Coffee lynched) then come join me.

Timestamp 6:54. Clearly LIS didn't know where the vote was at either, since BK was on the docket. Or she wouldn't have died, right???

And he was WRONG this time and the time before that a Coffee vote would save AM (who I was trying to save) and this was before BK's reveal.

yes, but doesn't my brindi vote cinch her and save AM? if I can get my higher suspicion, I will go for that

6:58 pm

I didn't really know where the vote was at either, apparently. That's how I made a tie in the Whisk game trying to break a tie to save a villager last minute, and died.

Alright then, if that's how this is going to go. I would switch my vote to AM for self prez, but even if I do you all probably wouldn't let me live for long. I'm the village seer, so here's the information I have gotten so far.

Haxx- village
AM- village

Would post the lynch tallies with colors but....it's not copying correctly. Happy hunting!

6:59 pm time stamp on the Brindi reveal.

Oh.... I thought AM/Coffee were the two leading candidates. I haven't seen an actual tally in a while. If BJ has snuck up there, fine, fair, I get why you won't move.

But if it's still an AM/Coffee shootout, you not moving to Coffee is irrational and therefore sketchy because it would mean you aren't as interested in protecting AM as you say you are.

I guess I need to see a tally to know which it is?

6:59 pm

The only person who thought this was some shoot out with Coffee was LIS. He was tunneled there. I was not interested in a Coffee or AM lynch over a Brindi lynch right up until the reveal at 6:59 pm, which LIS seemed to understand.

And no, there was no tally still.

AM you haven't really defended much, I feel like you should have a little more. Anything to say? (I realize it's a little late)

So, if AM's so cleared by Brindi because you totally buy that BJ is the village seer at this point, then why this? You can be unsure at 6:59 pm but I can't?

I don't think me switching to Coffee saves AM

6:59 pm. Trying to process what the **** went down, and what it all means.

Call me paranoid, but maybe it's just that I don't like all the pressure to change my votes to other people's liking, especially in a chaotic situation. Like a moth drawn to flame I can't seem to avoid getting entangled since I'm usually on right at end time.

Not knowing the tally, or when WZ will call deadline, if she'll count past 7, how many switches are we going to get, I did what I've always said, at some point you have to stay put or it gets worse. Since I didn't know what had happened with Coffee, AM, BJ, for all I knew switching would result in a 3 way and the last voter, switch, or tiemaker dies! Maybe not that many but you get my point.

Unlynch AM lynch BJ

7 pm

What was this? Sure you weren't trying to sneak a cinching vote on the seer after reveal?

I mean, me freezing at that point while I parsed out if I was going to make the situation worse or give in to a wolf plot from wolf pressure or a wolf role reveal lie (I've seen that happen) (usually a village seer would have revealed a bit sooner, the desperation fake reveal I see from wolves later, but you never know, admittedly BJ was inexperienced), me staying put not to make things worse at deadline is not OK, but this move from you is?

Well ****. When does lynch close? And can we get a tally? If BJ is claiming seer, I'll move my vote to protect her.

Sigh.

7:01 pm.

We still have no idea what is going on. There is no tally and LIS is talking of moving his vote from Coffee to preserve BJ. So where, praytell, should I move my vote having no idea where that will be, what the tally is, or when WZ is calling it?

unlynch haxx
lynch AM

7:01 vote. For the confirmed villager if BJ was to be believed at that time. I see this, and I still don't really know where to put my vote. Yes, I'm on Brindi, but do I move to Coffee or AM? Will I create a tie with the seer, which is the only thing worse than voting down the seer?

Lynch closed results pending

sorry guys I'm trying to be a responsible student so it's gonna take me a minute

7:02 pm, lynch closed.

So, sorry if I didn't respond the way you thought I should have in the timeframe you thought I should have. You and Snowy are just as sketch as anyone in that clusterfrak.

AM Quest for 20 Question (Marks): 8

And questioning two people who were JUST cleared by the village seer is probably not the greatest village move.

I really really want to see this as villager on villager.... because I'd hate to think I was so wrong about Coop all this time, and I hate to feel like I'm giving in to some irrational paranoia just because someone voted me. I also hate to think I'm going to not see a wolf as a result of both of those statements.

Whatever, I'm on YK right now, I should be going to sleep soon, I think. I literally don't have time to go over all this and clearly waffles are bad.

And questioning two people who were JUST cleared by the village seer is probably not the greatest village move.

Why?

Neither is just following anyone blindly.

I'm not going to feel bad for cautioning the village or even confirmed villagers. I make mistakes as a villager all the time. Last 3 games all fatal errors to myself, and dumb dumb dumb ones at that. One actually included a typo, another an accidental tie (MI, Whisk, Rehab), and another big one this game.

I'll come out and say it, I have seen a few comments that may have been too helpful to the wolves.

I'm sorry if I hurt everyone's feelers saying we need our thinking caps on.

And questioning two people who were JUST cleared by the village seer is probably not the greatest village move.

If anything, we need more of you and AM's thoughts on the thread. You're the only ones we can trust to give honest opinions. And we need village to not blindly follow you guys.

Haxx isn't a noob, but especially as a noob, I was inclined to follow other people's logic, including wolves and cleared villagers.

.....

I mean, so far this game we've all voted wrong. Even our seer.
I didn't say hax was a noob I said there were bigger bears to poke - i.e. on D4 I am perfectly happy to investigate somewhere other than someone who was seered as village by our confirmed village seer.

And also, yes, everyone has voted wrong I'm sure, but its interesting that you point this out because she voted only one confirmed village and you have voted all confirmed village. I know that's not everything, it just feels a little hypocritical of you to use that as a bargaining point.

I like your cray lynch but I am not playing for snowy. I'm playing for mixy

I didn't mean that you were saying Haxx was a noob. Just that my point about people not voting blindly applies to all. I'm not at all suggesting that we are investigating Haxx or AM. We do need to investigate their suspicions. I would like more from Haxx, as I said, not because I'm trying to figure out if he's a wolf, lol.

I already said, I've made a lot of frak ups and in no way am I trying to slam on anyone least of all our village seer. My point is that if you are playing WW, and you know someone is the seer, unless they've seered someone, their opinion is just as good as the next villager's. Don't think because someone has been cleared or has a PR, they know better if it's not based on mod info. Some mod info isn't that great, actually, lol. That led us astray in Rehab, not that that is a mechanic here.

LIS basically said the exact same thing earlier in the game.

Jeezus, I'm not sure why everyone is getting so bent out of shape that I said we need to keep our thinking caps on.

I guess it seems that I was being critical of confirmed villagers. Fine.

I've fallen down the trap of blindly following a confirmed villager soooo many times. Especially a worry when we have this many noobs in a game. So I don't see the issue with me making that clear saying everything I said so far.

Really frakking hate this part of the game. I keep responding and typing and explaining and offering what I think are innocuous and potentially even helpful comments, and it just digs my grave. And over what??? Telling people to keep their thinking caps on?

The nitpicking is just insane.

My intent was not to nitpick but your reply to me came off like you were either intentionally twisting my words or just misunderstood me and I didn't want either of those things to happen.

Sorry I have no clue what happened I didn't mean to quote that first quote.

This quiet? I posted more yesterday than i ever have.

If it's wolfy to stay quiet & I've gotten louder, it's time to go back and check the thread for who is actually not less quiet.

What are your thoughts on events after yesterday's reread?

So, if AM's so cleared by Brindi because you totally buy that BJ is the village seer at this point, then why this? You can be unsure at 6:59 pm but I can't?
Naw that was me typing it out and I hadn't seen the reveal. I realize you got lynched or whatever breaking a tie but you still should have noticed I think.

I'm not bothering with tallies until I get more votes :lame:

And no one gets to complain about not having tallies every two minutes when you all decide to vote in the last hour of the day, and then have a wafflefest :stop:

Again hadn't read yet.

I think you're just reacting to me calling you wolfy. This happened the last time too, remember what happened? You tunneled on me so hard you where swearing up and down I was a wolf in dead chat then I flipped village. Granted this is the first time you've ever read me as village at all soooo lol

I realize this was unclear before BJ made her reveal you had time to go back and look at tallies, I was catching up by that point but it looks like you were on the whole time that's where my sketch of you comes in. You had the time but didn't want to switch. Even after reveal it didn't matter who you were on you should've tried to lynch the next non cleared target. You didn't therefore I think you're a wolf.

time to go back and look at what tallies?? I had 2 tabs open that I was furiously going back to trying to count, while at the same time someone would gain a vote, lose a vote, another would gain, lose. I couldn't keep track and apparently no one else who was on at the time could either. I'm not sure what makes me solely responsible here.

Everytime I started typing to change my vote, I got pre-empted by another person changing their gorram vote. How am I supposed to know what changing my vote is going to do then?

It occurred to me a bit too late, that I could have just unlynched her. Although, I'm not sure what the consequences of not voting for *anyone* is in this game. Maybe then I get modkilled plus if that created a tie, 2 players. None of that actually ran through my mind, I kept thinking I'd have to write out a two step post that was unlynch and then another lynch vote.

I've said this before. It's like when someone gets lost in the woods and a search party is sent out. If you are lost, and you keep changing position, the chances of being found is low. This is why sperm are tiny and highly mobile and sperm are not. Sometimes the best way for two things to come together is for one to stay still.

Why is Snowy the only one allowed to take pause if this was all a wolf plot? That our votes were being manipulated? To question if BJ is a wolf seer?

For me to be slow on the counting, refresh, reading the new posts, and counting? 3 minutes to decide what to do when I didn't even know if BJ was really seer AND if I would just be making a tie, not unbreaking one, and not knowing what the heck anyone was doing.

I'm getting really annoyed at the hypocrisy, Coop, because reading what you two did sounds equally wolfy if not more so than this flub by me. If you're village, I can appreciate why this seems wolfy to you, but you're wrong, and there was 4 people in on that clusterfrak. If you're not, I can see why you're pinning this on me.

Snowy is equally wolfy in my eyes and I mentioned that already, what I'm saying is there was a reveal and you did nothing! You could have done something even if you weren't sure which person was in the lead. Unlynch, lynch someone else. Snowy and I were trying, we both ****ed up but hey we tried. We both look wolfy as **** doing so but we were trying for the sake of the village. Forgive me if I look at you weirdly. Also, I'm only one person and you're freaking out. Calm down you're volume of posts has shot way up. Step back and look at it. Say a couple of things and look at someone else too.

My switch wouldn't have counted anyway. Funny how after deadline is when I see you and Snowy flipping votes around. Hers being mostly bad even if they counted. Yours were also from a flail, but no way that I just didn't put all the pieces together?

I had been reading BJ as wolfy for days. I didn't trust LIS.

Why did BJ's reveal clear AM or Haxx? I wasn't sure on BJ, I wasn't sure on Haxx (he has been so quiet this game), and I didn't trust Snowy. The only two I trusted were you and AM. Maybe I'm just too stubborn, but I didn't the way I was getting cajoled about my vote before BJ role revealed. After, I still didn't know what the frak was going on.

I'm really wondering why it's so clear to you that I'm the wolf and you've cleared Snowy in your mind. Or that it would be so clear to you with BJ's reveal that she was village seer, and that her reads on Haxx and AM were true??

You're logic is all over the place.
- I haven't cleared snowy
- my issue isn't with you being unsure, my issue is with you choosing to do nothing at the time of the reveal.

And seriously someone claims seer and you don't trust it, fine. But that doesn't change things for you? You're saying so many wolfy things right now.

Fair enough, I just saw this post. Almost like it takes time to type and refresh and read!

Like it doesn't look wolfy as frak I didn't move? I don't know how to explain, that in the past the times that this happens and I stay put vs move, has worked out better for village. Waffling isn't great, waffling even after role reveals isn't great. I had a 20% chance of dying by this drama, and we had a 40% chance I think of losing 2 villagers from this frak up. I dunno. After dying the last time I tried to save villagers I swore I wouldn't lend a hand, and despite that, and what it might look like to you, I was trying to help.

Good, that's a great response thank you!
