Monster Mash WW - Sign Ups and Game Thread

I just hate how the game ended, because I knew cray was a wolf and would probably flip her vote at the last minute, so as a villager my only option was to pick from the remaining choices. Logically, her best move would be to follow mine, regardless of me picking a wolf, so it was either give her the game or just make a choice, either way the odds were bad.

Thanks for the win, I'm sure wolf noob Coffee enjoyed it and so did I. Better than the 3 way tie as you said, and you did try to get me killed. Kudos to you all around.

Correction to LIS:

Thinking you vig attacked Coffee N1 was not a bad thought.
This led to your block for N2. I see what you are saying now, you weren't trying to hit Coffee as I see reviewing WZ's night action reveals. However, since there was no protector that night, and no one the wolves killed didn't die, we only had 2 conclusions: vig chose not to kill, or you tried and were blocked. Not sure why you don't see our thought process here as reasonable.

You were right that it wasn't a question of you trying to kill Coffee N2. The fact that you seemed hip to her D1 and then she lost the kill protection... that is the risk of being vig, making your suspicions known, and accidentally getting the wolf with kill avoidance who also gets notified. With you being #1 to suspect her and then her getting hit plus the no kill on a protector-less night when we blocked you....

You can say we got lucky with suspecting you for N1 and then with choosing to block you N2 with no protector when it was possible someone else was vig and decided not to use it, and that the block N2 just pushed us even more to thinking it was you, and taking you out, was right move, wrong reason, but I don't see how. I'm not sure what better thought process would lead someone to the vig.

Perhaps your pushing of Coffee lynch and failing we shouldn't have taken as a clue that you were the vig using your powers getting frustrated at not getting a kill N2, but when you think someone's after your wolf and a vig, you take them out to be sure. Period.

1) N00bs aren't always sketchy. They've skated before simply because they aren't well known. So - not necessarily a negative.

2) You can't pull off your own meta? Your meta is "avalanche". Of course you can.

3) Genny played a solid game.

4) Subbed wolf? There were what, 2 sub'd villagers? That more than balanced out against the village.

What I mean is: you made the deduction about me being vig for the wrong reason. Coffee spelled out in the dead thread why, and you just did as well - you assumed that it went like this: I vig'd Coffee and failed, so I pushed Coffee because of that, therefore I was vig and it's "as simple as that."

But that's not how it went. I didn't make that conclusion because of the failed vig on Coffee. I certainly <considered> it, but that wasn't why I pushed Coffee. I pushed Coffee precisely because of why I said I did in thread.

So - right move, wrong reason in the sense that your conclusions about what <I> was thinking were wrong. I didn't say your conclusion about me being a vig was wrong.

You were. You recovered with an avalanche of info, but good village play would have caught it. And I said so before anyone told me. You just played the "and obv we were right" card to "prove" yourself, so that makes it fair game: obv I was right.

Revisionist (and incorrect) history. I have MANY MANY MANY times (more often than not) complimented wolves on a good win.

This just wasn't one of them.

I appreciate that 2 subbed villagers is tough and balances out us having a subbed wolf.

My point is, do you really think Coffee the noob, ME, and genny who is then subbed for Skimble (no offense Skimble, just seems you're often considered sketch), is the wolf pack dream team???? So yeah, we had an uphill battle.

I think I'm the biggest wolf handicap there is. The only thing you can count on is that I'll play hard. That's it.

My meta is more than just avalanche. I respect anyone that calls me out for a change in tone in my posts. Not my hours, not my likes, not how many posts there are, because there's plenty some days and less some, and I'm never going to lurk my way through a wolf game. Easiest way to catch me I know people will expect, so I'm not going to do it. Sure, people will say one day I'll do it as wolf to shock everyone, but no one will ever trust me enough for that to work for me as wolf. I have to hide in plain sight or not live at all.

So I have to post. And everyone says, "oh she's making more sense. These feel lighter. The logic is better. She's not as reactive." The truth is, if I'm not wolf hunting, I can put all my energy into looking more like a model villager. I don't freak out about one vote or 5 against me, because it's hard to have righteous indignation when I'm a wolf and I feel bad faking it. I don't want to draw attention to the suspicion. I know the silly logic that the more you freak the more they lynch.

I'm more willing to react as villager because the stakes aren't as high - I defend aggressively because it doesn't feel fair, I want to play, and I'm not going down without a fight. Plus, maybe I frak things up not being the model villager and getting my ass lynched, but unless I have a PR, it's not as catastrophic as a losing a wolf. A little bit damned if you do, damned if you don't for defending hard or not as a villager. As a wolf I *have* to play it cool for the pack. I'm more scared and play that way.

It's not that I don't understand what looks like good villaging to people - or I wouldn't have play people liked better as a wolf - it's just the only time that's my main consideration is if I'm wolf. I'm not actually dumb at this game, I just have lots of things to improve and learn. I clearly haven't mastered wolfing or villaging by a long shot.

Villager Cray just wolf-hunts. Villagers relying too much on traditional sense of what's wolfy or not drives me nuts. I won't pander to it as a villager because it's silly. I will as a wolf because it behooves me to do so.

The ideas of "wolfy" or "not wolfy" often gets the the wrong people lynched while wolves play on it looking like good villagers.

And I think I explained better that it wasn't just you going for Coffee's lynch that led to our conclusion. Blocking you N2 and no vig kill anywhere - either vig didn't act or it was who we blocked. So you were NOT a bad bet at that point. Blocking and killing you N3 was the smart wolf move and confirmatory. We did consider other possibilities than you being vig. So we were deliberate.

Genny was very much playing hard at the start of the game, so don't put it past her that she was schooling us on how the mechanics of that could be considered every which way and what the best wolf moves might be.

I see what you mean that there was some leeway on it not being you, and if you didn't push Coffee's lynch because you thought she was a wolf... not sure why you did anything you did, then. Why vig hit her? Why try to lynch her before BJ's reveal? We had reason to suspect you, there was a no protector night and no vig hit... it was a good thought. But the only answer was that the vig didn't act despite doing so N1 or it was you who was blocked.

Yeah...I mean, mod knowledge so it's a little biased, but I was like "How is anyone buying that coffee knows MJ well enough to say something like that..."

I thought it was by reputation, like, how Stella picked up that LIS is the noob wolf hunter D1, from the thread. MJ was sorta painted as devious... but it does seem wolfy when "noobs are too smart for a noob."

I was impressed Coffee thought to make up that defense, though.

@Stella Mudd wanted me to do this for @CoffeeQuestionMark and @Haxx and @Mad Jack
she has a hard time on her phone doing this sort of thing:

lynch mel

bwahaha

bwahaha is content, it implies I am amused by my actions

I thought it was making a tie, and also lynching CheezyD is always entertaining because he gets all talkative

But I'm, like, the anti-content

:lame: I guess I'll just have to give you discontent instead 😛

Me? Read anything thoroughly?
*guffaws*

Okay I read it. So uh, that blocker willing to talk anyway? 😉

I long for death

We know you, we know it's Dean, let's be real

I'm willing to try anything twice

I all about the three ways, but let's not do this particular one

I'm engaging in hedonistic shenanigans, prioritiesssss

A surprise three way? My favorite!

Lol, really, we're going to claim that at least 1/2 of MJ's content wasn't a sex joke, joke, or meme?

Let's keep a tally next time so we can come up with an accurate ratio. Sorta like the AM ? tally.

Boom! I knew @genny is a wolf once again!

Cray being a wolf comes as no surprise. @SkiOtter called it but i wanted to stick with my pre game prediction that Cray is village.

Also called it that Mixy the @MixedAnimals77 was village! I'd be sad if she flipped wolf this game :dead::hungover:

Good game to all. It's been fun watching.
Yep def dartboarded that day 1 and then stuck with it bc crayons was 2sktechy4me
Genny wasn’t playing The Genny Way™ so she was kinda feeling off to me too

What is with all the retirement jokes/not jokes??

DVMD, LIS, you.... I haven't been playing that long with you guys.

At least Dy's semi-retirement happened before I started playing so I know I didn't add any annoyance factor.

I wasn’t kidding about retiring.... it’s been on my mind...
I'm already semi-retired so I know that feel. I just feel like I'm useless late game because no one listens to me and I get thrown under the bus so easily, and I'm useless early game because my reads aren't as strong as most, plus I don't know half these new players.

Also that we anticipated and gave me the one kill avoidance. That wasn't luck that was thinking!

Yahp......I hear you. I'm going to stick around for my commitments to games that I've already made but then I may just fade/phase out :ninja:

Don't you dare leave me MJ
I can't take much more of this 😛
I don't like feeling like one of the most veteran players here. I'm not good enough for that ****.
