MPH / MSPH 2021: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey! Congratulations !!
When did you apply ? and do you know if the scholarships are awarded with acceptance or you find out afterwards ?
Thanks! I applied 11/17. I wasn't notified about scholarships with the acceptance, the official acceptance letter is coming at a later date so maybe then.

We won't be hearing from Harvard until mid-Feb.

Congrats to those who received acceptances.

Was wondering what the rescind policy is. Like does a C+ in a class deter you enough to be rescinded? Specifically at Yale, Hopkins

I currently go to Yale and I had one D, two C’s, and one C+ (C+ was a class from my first semester of undergrad), and the rest were when I had a medical issue that took me away from the classroom. I think as long as you are able to show an upward trend of grades overall and have experience/extracurriculars/etc. to back it up, you’ll really be seen as who you are overall rather than one or a few grades on a transcript!

Does anyone know when Emory began releasing their decisions last year? I tried to go through last years forum but it was so long!

Also, has anyone else applied to the Vanderbilt program?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to switch program applications at JHU? I applied for the MPH, but now I really think I should’ve applied to the MSPH.

Hey guys,

Congrats to everyone hearing back from programs!

Did anyone apply to the Ph.D. public health programs and heard back? I am currently waiting to hear from the UMiami Ph.D. program.

Also, did anyone hear back from Boston University Global Health MPH program? :-D

Hi!

Has anyone who applied to the University of Michigan Health Management and Policy MPH program heard back??

Everything was complete on my application before the priority deadline, 11/29 I believe, just haven't seen too many people on this forum say they applied to Umich! Just curious to see if anyone has heard back!

Hi! I applied on 11/30, got an invitation to interview on 12/11, and interviewed on 12/15 🙂

could you share what the interview's like? I'm doing mine this Wednesday and am very nervous!
definitely! I was really nervous too, but it wasn't bad at all. It might depend a bit on the faculty member, but mine was super friendly and conversational. She said they really just want to put a face to a name and get to know you/your path to public health a little better. All the questions were pretty straight forward and then there were about 10 mins for me to ask questions about the program and such at the end. I hope that helps! Best of luck to you! 🙂

Has anyone heard from Boston or Tufts/know when they usually release decisions?
I believe BU starts reviewing in mid-January at the earliest. Looking at the 2020 thread, decisions were released around that time as well.

This is very kind of you. Although I do not apply to that program, your kindness prompted me to write this message. Public health really needs people with a heart like yours.

I hope you can get in any program of your choice.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this. I have applied to several schools and I noticed that many of them have a Priority deadline. I tried to apply to majority of them before the priority deadline. What exactly does priority deadline mean? IS it specifically for scholarships?

Yes, priority deadline means full considerations for fundings/scholarships.

Just got in at Tufts with concentration in Behavioral Science and Health Communication!
That's awesome! When did you submit? I submitted on the 10th and haven't heard anything other than that they've received the initial application and will notify me when it is under review
