We were in a program that was linked directly to ucla medical school. It was blood shedding in cell bio because our classes were always based on a curve, the curve set for the ucla med school direct transfers.

From the email I got earlier titled - "Emory Application Received"

"To add your second and/or third preferences, click the "Select Additional Public Health Programs" link in the Admissions section of your OPUS Student Center. Please carefully consider your options before submitting your second and third preferences as you can only submit the form once. You will NOT be able to change your first preference application. If you need to change your first preference, please email [email protected]. "

Congratulations! How did you receive notification about your UCLA admission? I applied to the same concentration and haven't received anything yet!

Where was your UCLA acceptance? Is there a portal? I submitted on 12/1 and never got a portal link...

Thanks! I received an email saying that I have been recommended for admission, they said they would be sending me a formal admissions offer in 7-10 days.
 
Will spelling a faculty member's name wrong hurt me? I put Michael instead of Michel in my sop?

Yep and everyone drives like a maniac. The weather is amazing and the area is pretty but the area around UCLA's campus is one of the most expensive zip codes to rent in California, if I'm gonna pay this much I might as well be in NYC!

Since I was admitted to my first grad program, I wanted to post my stats! I was nervous tbh because my stats are pretty low. Emory is my top choice! I'm in disbelief, Goodluck to everybody! ❤

I’m a major lurker on this thread (🤣), but I wanted to congratulate everyone on their acceptances! I found out that I was accepted into Emory tonight and I’m shook. My stats are relatively low (another story for another day) and this is my second time applying to MPH programs (I only applied to one school in 2018 and was rejected). I say all of this to say never give up on your goals and dreams! What is meant for you will be for you at the right time. Sending positive vibes to those who are still awaiting admission statuses, you all got this 💗

Has anyone who applied for biostat at Yale/Columbia or epi/biostat at UCLA and UCB heard back from any of the schools yet? 🙂
 
Anyone hear back from Columbia accelerated MPH in epi yet? All of my application materials were submitted in September and verified by 10/1 -- but still, nothing on the portal. Ivy grad with 3.9 GPA in the sciences, prior Master's in healthcare economics, 170/168/6.0 GRE, 5+ years of work experience.

Hi everyone! Congratulations on all the acceptances! Has anyone heard back from Columbia for Environmental Health Sciences? I applied by the priority deadline and my application went under review 12/11
 
Does anyone know the acceptance rate for NYU MPH, and if its the similar to that of Columbia, UCLA, brown? (specifically for mph)

also, I have a few rejections so far but applied to like 14 schools. Is it possible that I will get rejected from ALL of them. God I’m so nervous.

I’m still waiting on Emory. It’s 6AM here and I could barely sleep last night. I can’t stop refreshing the portal😓😓😅

kinda nervouse i applied to pop fam but they prefer a year experience so who knows
wondering if i should have applied to HPM
 
Just woke up to my official Emory acceptance to Global Health! I was told there wasn’t a chance of most grad schools with a gpa of 2.9 but I am ecstatic they could see past that! Congrats to all that got their acceptances!!!!!

@Spartacous1 GPA is just one part of the application. Just to put things in perspective, my undergrad GPA is very similar to yours. But I take full responsibility for it since I wasn't focused on career or studies in college and was just winging it. I added a document to my application on how that low GPA has impacted me and how much I have learned from my mistakes. I went ahead and got 2 masters to prove that I got this, and had pretty decent grades in both.

Your application as a whole speaks volumes. Don't worry, there is a place for you and no one can take it.

Everyone's maturity and lessons in life are different, but at the end it all works out; maybe not the way we want it to be, but just the way it is suppose to be.

I applied to UCB before the Dec 1 deadline and I haven't heard back yet!

I totally agree! Numbers aren't everything, life happens.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, if you worked hard and got an amazing GPA, congrats! But don't rub it in people's faces with subtle, not so subtle, hints that you're in complete disbelief that others with a lower GPA/numbers got in but you are impatient to get acceptances/news 🥴

Thanks guys. I feel like I am the only one who applied to Environmental Health here for all my schools. I see everyone applying to Epi, HP, GH etc. I did amazing in my fall term and sent that to schools as an updated transcript. I also addressed my GPA in my SoP and attached an addendum letter so show that I can excel in a masters program.

Concerning Columbia, I applied like a few days after the application deadline of Dec 1st. So maybe that is the reason I haven't heard back yet? My top schools are Columbia, Emory, BU, and Pitt. ***Fingers Crossed*** I am sooooo nervous. I would be over joyed with just 1 acceptance! Good luck to everyone!
 
Does anyone know when HSPH are releasing the decisions? From previous years posts, it looks like sometime in Feb. Do they release in weekly batches like Yale?
