I applied to the Online MPH- Sustainable Development Goals! It being their online program may be why I also heard so fast and with aid already! Definitely wasn’t expecting to hear from anyone on a Saturday but it was a pleasant surprise LOL

I think it has to do with the gender norm of men studying "hard" sciences to be honest. The sex ratio for the environmental "science" "(as opposed to "health") major had way more dudes. Obviously a really simple explanation, and completely based on generalizations, but I think it might contribute.

I interned at a county health department where 95% of the environmental health specialists were men (the sole epidemiologist was a man as well) and 100% of the health educators and nurses were women. Granted the county was fairly rural and in the Midwest which probably contributed. So interesting!

I sent the supplement in on 11/17, my SOPHAS application was marked complete on 12/1, and I got accepted on 1/13! I think it varies a lot though. I’ve seen a lot of timelines for UNC on here. I got into the health behavior concentration.
 
Hi! Do most programs require you to commit by 4/15? I know GW asked me to commit by that date, but I don’t see a whole lot on what dates Yale and UNC require a commitment by. Also, I got an email about some admitted students webinars through George Washington yesterday but still haven’t heard whether or not I got any merit aid. I was reading on here that people usually heard back one way or another. Does this mean I didn’t?
 
Emory has a pay deposit and defer option.

You should read the Tuition + Financial assistance/Scholarships on each school's site. Many of the schools I applied to consider you for merit scholarships once you submit FAFSA, but that's for US citizens only... I've seen a couple students post on here that they got a merit scholarship from Emory already; I think those students are US citizens. I think for Emory, they announce scholarships and funding (like work study) through the next few weeks (March).

If you want to save your spot at JHU and Emory before the Fullbright results, just pay your enrollment deposit. I would also email your program's admissions contact to ask if you can choose to defer even after you've paid the deposit.

gonna compare programs once i get stable internet (oh texas😭) but I may request being placed into HPM versus popfam but people who applied to each dept - can you tell me why, what jobs go w it, what you like about it (at columbia)

That's amazing, congrats! If you don't mind sharing, do you know if your scholarship was merit-based or a combination of merit and need-based? I have your same stats (sub LSAT with GRE) but unfortunately received less than 50% tuition merit aid 🙁
 
Okay so I’m confused, I got an email from Umich that said I need to submit an application for in state tuition, but I haven’t even gotten an admissions decision yet 😂 Also, I’ve lived in MI since birth never anywhere else, so I’m confused 😅 anyone else get that email?
 
I haven't submitted my Duke app yet. Since I'm already in for many other great schools, could someone talk to me about whether I should still consider Duke? 😓 Part of me just don't want to waste all the efforts I've already put in, but then again why waste the app fee if Duke's no better than any other schools I've already got in.

Ah I see, no worries. And yes I'll definitely be submitting financial aid appeals to my top choices. Regardless, congrats on your scholarship that's really amazing!!

I’ve seen people say they got an email that said they didn’t get any aid! When I emailed they said by March 1st we should hear something🙂

Yes, I did too! And I went to UMich for undergrad and never had any issues with it. Super confusing. I just submitted the residency application so maybe the decision will come soon? Fingers crossed

I committed to Emory yesterday! I realized that even though I still haven't heard back from a couple of schools, I love the city of Atlanta, and Emory was the goal I set for myself when I jumped into this application process. I don't have any debt from undergrad and the PhD programs I'm looking at are funded, so even without scholarships I should be able to manage the cost with federal loans, especially since I've been able to put a good chunk of money in savings since graduating last May.

Basically I just figured that Emory was the one school on my list I didn't actually have any cons for aside from cost, and if that's the case, then I should just figure out how to manage it.

Hi everyone, I need some opinions about schools. I finally got all of my decisions back and I am trying to figure out what school to commit to. As of right now, my top three are JHU MSPH in Health Policy, BU Health Policy and Law (might change to Healthcare Management), and Columbia HPM.

Taking cost out of the question, does anyone have any pros and cons for the schools/programs? I am trying to figure out which school with give me the best ROI in regards to job opps after graduation and career trajectory.

My interest includes most likely going into healthcare consulting, hospital admin maybe project management, or working in pharma companies if that helps.

Does anybody have any suggestions?? I would greatly appreciate it!!!😀

I'm an MCH admit and I haven't heard back yet on anything! I spoke with the program director and she said by March 1st we will know, same was the financial aid office said.
 
Does anyone have an idea when Johns Hopkins (full time) MPH sends out financial aid (institutional scholarship, not federal loans) awards? Is it included in the admission letter or a separate email? I hope the latter...

- 2 years project manager in projects focused on health delivery transformation and equity

Just be honest and kindly ask them to extend the deadline to April 15 because you are still waiting to hear back from some schools. All schools know that this is the app season. Hopefully they will understand and grant you an extension to 4/15.

I have not committed to any programs myself for that same reason.
