MPH / MSPH 2022: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

Does anyone know if everyone who applies to Columbia HPM department gets an interview? Or do they only interview people they would admit?

Is it too late for me to apply? I have had very little help in this process and have just discovered this thread. Any (kind) advice is appreciated! I know that my chances for scholarship are low, but am unsure if any seats will even be available. If I end up applying, I can have my apps in either this weekend or next.

I know Michigan State is still taking applications until May 31st for the fall semester.

Thank you so much! Health Policy!

Thank you so much and congratulations! No such thing as a stupid question! 😊

When I click on "view update" my letter says I have until April 15th to decide so I'm waiting until I hear back from all schools! (I assume that date is the same for everyone but not sure!)
Did you interview for the MSPH HPM? If so, how many days did you wait between the interview and acceptance?

I just got an email from BU about an accepted student chat. However, I have not received an official acceptance that I can find. Has anyone heard from BU Health Policy and Law?

Oops I didn’t get an interview…maybe I wasn’t shortlisted
Good luck to you both 🙂
It might not be a shortlist type of case. I know that sometimes people get accepted without being interviewed, so I sincerely hope that it is the case for you as well! Lots of luck. Fingers crossed!

Yes! I had an informal interview with the assistant director on 12/21 and received my acceptance yesterday, 1/25, so exactly 5 weeks later. My interviewer did say that the interview had no bearing on admissions, it was just to check in, discuss the program and answer any questions I may have. 😊

People who didn't even apply got this, I was wondering the same thing! Just a mass email unfortunately.

If someone can provide insight into UMich hpm interview that would be great. I have my interview scheduled for tomorrow.

They just sent a correction email and said it was prospective not accepted. Fingers crossed though!

Thought I'd share in case anyone else is in the same boat waiting for a decision from George Washington!
I applied to GW Global Health Epi and Disease Control on 11/12 and my application was placed under review on 11/23 but I still haven't received a decision. I emailed admissions today and they said it's still under departmental review and to wait 2-3 more weeks.

I got waitlisted for Yale health policy. I am not sure how I should feel about this. Does anyone know what are the chances I'll be taken off the waitlist?

Back asking about GW financial aid haha. Is anyone else still waiting for theirs? I got accepted on December 10 and the email said it would come in around 4 weeks... I emailed the financial aid office to ask last week to see if I could get an update on the time line and they gave me a sort of terse reply saying that I should have read the admissions email which said 4 weeks. But it's been almost 7 weeks now so not sure if I should keep checking in?

I got accepted in early Jan. They said wait 3-4 weeks about financial aid and scholarship info. I feel like I should hear back soon based on their timeline, but reading your post worries me. Sorry not much help!

I was accepted December 20th, and I'm still waiting

Oh gosh this forum gives me memories :'D

I was an applicant last year (so I still remember the chaos & stress), and I'm a current MHS (ID Epi) student at Johns Hopkins. If y'all have any questions regarding the program, feel free to send me a message! I'll try my best to answer them! Good luck with apps everyone!!

Anyone here who hasn't yet heard from Hopkins part-time/online June 22? I'm still awaiting but seems like a good handful of people have already heard...

I got waitlisted for Yale health policy. I am not sure how I should feel about this. Does anyone know what are the chances I'll be taken off the waitlist?
Sorry it wasn't a flat-out acceptance 🙁 Seems like more spots will open up as people continue getting in and choosing other schools. Do you mind sharing when you applied/when your app was complete?

Does Yale send send specific email alerting that the application is under review? I got an 'Application Received by YSPH' email on 12/16 saying "We have begun the initial process of reviewing your application and will contact you via e-mail if any items are missing" but haven't heard anything since...

Applied: Harvard MPH-45 Global Health (11/28), JHU MPH (11/29), Columbia Accelerated General Public Health (11/30), Yale AP MPH (12/14), Boston Uni (01/02)

From what I gather they send a "received" email followed by a "complete" email. I got the "received" on 12/16 with the same language, then an email on 1/13 stating "Your Master of Public Health (MPH) application is complete and will now move into the review process. Admissions decisions are being sent out on a rolling basis between now and early March." I haven't heard anything else since! I applied to the MPH in Health Policy.

Thank you so much! I wonder how the move through applications since it seems there is quite a gap... that tells me that it will probably take a few more weeks till I hear back; it's is nerve wracking! I keep refreshing my email every 10 min!

I feel the same! Someone else on this feed got the "received" email a week after me but the "complete" email a week earlier! It's a total (nerve-wracking) mystery!

I did also receive the pointless “let me tell you about our MPH email” weeks after I had already applied to their MPH 🙃

Has anyone year back from UC Berkeley yet?
I haven't. I got an email from them about a funding opportunity and in it, it said "Your application is still under review and official admissions notices from UC Berkeley will be sent between February and April." In previous years they haven't released decisions until March

Congrats! When did you apply?
Applied on 12/23/21 initially for MSPH in global epidemiology, went for review on 01/05/21, denied on 1/26/21 but my application was sent to MSPH in epidemiology and accepted the same day!

Yeah, I hope I'll get off the waitlist soon. I applied on 15th Dec, my app was completed on 1/24 and I heard back yesterday

Hi! I had emailed them letting them know that I had another offer that I had to accept or decline before they usually send out scholarship information, so they sent it to me early. In that email, I was told that the official notice would come out in early February!

Has anyone heard back on funding for yale mph yet? I'm wondering how much they award people and how long it takes for them to notify you
