MPH / MSPH 2022: Applied, Accepted, Waitlisted, Rejected, Attending

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Congratulations!! What concentration? They’re killing me with how long they’re taking!
Health Behavior! Yes the wait is a real struggle! Yesterday (the day I got accepted) was actually the first day I wasn't compulsively checking my email for an application update--funny how that works.

Hi, I applied for the accelerated professional Columbia HPM program but I didn't get any interview call. Should I be worried? I feel like I'm the only one who hasn't been contacted :/ but could it be it's because I applied for the APP HPM?
I was waiting for someone to ask this lol ~ I applied to their accelerated HPM program but was never contacted about an interview so I'm hoping it's intended more for the standard 2-year applicants (but I'm not sure)

Has anyone heard from Columbia or BU that their application is under review? I applied in October to Columbia MPH Epi and December to the BU MS in Applied Biostatistics and haven't heard anything

I’m not sure if the MS programs falls under the same guidelines as the MPH program, but BU doesn’t start reviewing applications until after the priority deadline which was the 15th.

How are you liking being at Yale as an older/more experienced student? I haven't gotten in yet, but definitely will be on of my top choices if I get in. I'm wondering as the program/student profiles I've seen from them tend to be younger/less experienced students (but may just be selection bias on who does those profiles? I'm not sure haha) so wasn't sure if it would be a good fit due to that! I'd have about 6 years of public health experience.
I was also worried about this going in, but it hasn't been an issue at all. While we are the minority, there are still a good amount of students who have more than 4 years of work experience and because the overall community is so open and welcoming, it's easy to find them and connect with them. And the students who are less experienced and right out of college tend to have been focused on public health in undergrad (I wasn't) and still have a lot of interesting experience to share

Radio silence from Columbia's HPM. The decisions were out by this time last year, i know this is just me freaking out but let me know if anyone did hear back.

Hi!
I applied to Emory Epi on 1/15 but I never received any email confirming my application, is that normal? I got app confirmations from other schools so just wanted to check!

Thank you!

It took 2 weeks for my application confirmed email to come back in December, so I wouldn't worry yet.

I think Emory downloads their applications in batches, so it might be a little while before you get a confirmation. I applied in Nov, and got a confirmation that they had my application about a month or so later I think. It seems like they have just started go to through and get out their first rounds of acceptances, so I imagine you should get a confirmation shortly, but I think they are still looking through applications from people who applied before the new year. Good luck!

ok makes sense thank you!

I applied to Columbia MPH health policy and management and haven’t gotten an interview… is this a bad sign?

Wondering if anyone here is still waiting to hear back from JHU for online/part-time MPH, June 2022 ? I haven’t heard anything yet but saw some other folks had…

I haven't! I got an email today about my SSN on my FAFSA not matching my GWU application. Has anyone had this happen? How did they get it resolved?

Yes it happened to me and I just emailed the financial aid office said they would match it to my FAFSA! I’ve seen so many people have this with GW that I think it’s a GW issue.

Hello everyone! I received my Dartmouth interview days ago. They said that they will use zoom but I haven't received the zoom link yet. Does anyone know it?
I have sent the email to them but still no reply🙁

Hi 77
Just email them.

I just realized that there’s a mistake on my resume that I submitted to SOPHAS where I list my graduation date wrong. Should I contact school’s I applied to and notify them of the mistake? I’ve been accepted at some programs and rejected by one, and I don’t want this minor mistake to be the reason for a rejection.

I would recommend calling the admissions office, they are extremely kind and helpful! If you call operations and ask for Amanda at admissions, she is so kind!

They have your transcripts and it was a genuine mistake that doesn't change your credentials (you did graduate, after all), so I don't think you need to, and I'd be nervous to, personally!

Got into both schools I applied to! JHU MPH (Accelerated 1 Year) on 1/18 and Dartmouth MPH (Accelerated 1 year) on 1/21. I did not receive an interview invite for Dartmouth, just got the acceptance randomly today. Applied to both on 11/30!

Edit: Also received my Dartmouth Scholarship Letter today

Did anyone else apply to the JHU health security scholarship? I figure it's a long shot since there is only one available but am already getting anxious to hear back haha (they said we would hear back in the spring).
