Just wondering what you all think of this...as this is the viewpoint of a lot of people...including health care professionals.

Granted, the MCAT is probably much more intense and harder than the DAT, but the GPAs of matriculating students at some mid-top tiered dental schools are pretty comparable. And I know that osteopathic is way less competitive. If I really wanted to be a doctor, and am not competitive for allopathic due to MCAT/GPA, I would apply to osteo, not to dentistry. So why the stereotype that dental applicants are not competitive for medicine? 😳

I'd love to hear opinions. =)

Wow...I think you're assuming a little too much. I don't care. But I can't help but "wonder why"...hence my SDN username. 😛

By this I mean that dental students could easily get into medical programs if they really wanted to. Hence, they're certainly not "less competitive" for medicine.

And I can't help but wonder why the 1/5 of medical school rejects don't apply to osteopathic...but dentistry.
