Hi everyone! As the time for NAVLE score release gets closer I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for this last testing window. Anyone have any ideas on when they think our results will be posted?

4 weeks from the last testing date would be next Friday January 17th, thats hopefully the latest they send the results out. I have heard that they historically send results out on Wednesdays though so maybe the 15th?

I believe last year they came out on the 17th, and the testing window also closed on Dec 20th? I just have a feeling they're going to be released when I'm in the worst place possible to open them 😓

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. I would much rather receive them next week rather than the week after due to the different clinical rotations I'm on.

Yeah the predictions I've heard are possibly Wednesday the 15th since the last two fall testing windows got theirs on the Wednesday of the 4th week. I'm supposed to be in surgery all day Wednesday so I'll probably find out hours after they get posted which is going to suck.

The fall 2023 test window closed on December 16 (results came out Jan 17) so I think the results will come out earliest this Friday but maybe next Wednesday the 22 since this window closed on Dec 21st

Will everyone's score be released at once or will they come in waves throughout the day?

Did anyone else see the VetPrep email today that basically was like “if we helped you pass the test let us know” do we know if this is a a sign? Do they usually send an email like this out around score release time? Or are they just playing with our emotions

I don't think I would consider this a sign. I don't think they know when scores will be released, but they may be basing this email on the score release date last year.

They send an email like that every year. It's not a sign of anything.

They have zero clue. They're not involved with NAVLE directly and just follow the patterns same as you. They're a business hoping you'll give them a positive review to use.

Anyone know if Navle results are coming out today? I've heard some people talking about it coming today.

Welp, it wasn't today. I'm betting it will be on Friday. Hopefully it is Friday and not next week because the waiting is killing me 🙃

The icva announced they’ll be out for a board meeting starting tomorrow but that the meeting technically doesn’t start till the 17th. Think we’ll get them tomorrow? Typically they come before the board of directors meeting…

Just saw this announcement on the ICVA website. It says the ICVA employees will be out of office Jan 16th-19th, and will resume regular hours on Jan 21st. I feel this means we won't get them 'til the 21st at least now :/

The last two years, they released them during the board of directors meeting (day 1 in 2023, day 2 in 2024), so tomorrow is definitely still a possibility!

Last year they released scores on Jan 17th and the board of directors meeting was Jan 19-20th 2024 and then for 2023 scores were released Jan 18th and the meeting was Jan 20-21st 2023. So they have usually released them the Wednesday before the meeting.

They should def be next week, according to one of the deans of my uni. They're apparently talking about releasing the scores all at once vs releasing them by school, and my class would likely get them on Thursday if they release by school. Apparently that's to prevent an incident like what happened last year....but dang, if other people start getting results on Wednesday and I have to wait until Thursday, I'm going to be salty haha.

Back when I was in school, my state released results by phone. So they came on the intercom in the hospital and said results were ready/available then all of us frantically tried to step away from clinics and call the state board so they could give us our results. So imagine 88 people (well, the percent that had applied through our state, so maybe like 40-50 but still) all frantically calling one phone number who may have had two or three employees max working who would look up your results and then tell you pass or fail. You’d get a busy signal, hang up, call again, and hope your call went through. Some people chose to wait until later but the people at the board office were only available until five so it’s not like you could wait to call at home that evening. It was crazy. And that was in 2015 when they could have emailed even if there was no portal yet. So at least things have progressed from that antiquated system!

I remember this. We had to call the Ovma for our results. We had to nervously dial. Ugh I’m feeling really old tonight

lol what happened last year was ICVA's own screw up, releasing scores in batches won't change that

God, that phone system sounds horrible. I'm glad they've left that antique in the dust.

Yikes, I was reading this and for sure thought you were talking about the early 2000s, but then you said 2015 🤪 How did an organization as big as the ICVA let that system continue for so long.

I mean. Look at the EMRs some of the vet schools use. Vet Star at Illinois was obviously older than the average student 🤣

When you’re done dealing with IVCA and NAVLE, you’ll then get to deal with a state licensing board for actual licensing and you’ll learn that most state boards are disorganized messes run by like three overworked and underpaid employees. Hopefully there is a sweet helpful older lady who gets stuff done like my current stage has. But I’ve lived in four states and getting anything done by the board is an endeavor. It’s an important and thankless job but it’s awful having to deal with them. My state didn’t even have an online license renew portal/CE log until like 2020, before that it was paper and mailing a check.

Unlikely. They historically release on a Wednesday
That’s actually not accurate. Last Nov-Dec cycle was a Thursday, the April cycle before that was a Tuesday. Etc. there’s no true pattern for the day of the week.

THE WORST

Also the worst. Out of the four states I've been licensed in thus far, only one board has seemed semi-functional.

Are people still trying to file a class action lawsuit over that?

Got my score about ten minutes after my friends! So don't fret if you don't see yours yet.

I JUST got my email so don't worry if you haven't - seems like theyre releasing them in waves. Hope everyone gets some good news today!!!! 😊

i failed by such small margin :/ I'm such a failure
It's okay, there are many of us that got surprised by results we didn't expect today. Let today be a day to feel defeated then we have no time to waste, we have 2.5 months to get this ball rolling let's hit the ground running! (I am sounding very optimistic as if I didn't ugly cry in the clinic office today when I found out I failed lol)

K-State STILL uses VetStar and it is AWFUL. Typing prescriptions into the program is horrible and the system is always malfunctioning, frozen, or broken. I could write an essay about my distaste for VetStar.

Does anyone happen to know when April scores come out? 4-5 weeks like in the fall?

It’s usually slightly quicker than the fall because of fewer test takers and they know there is a time crunch because of graduation, but yes, it still takes a few weeks after the exam window closes.
