can someone try to help answer questions:

Daily cleaning of root surface by the patient has been shown to
a. cause root sensitivity
bcause root resorption
c. stimbulates epi attachment
d. allow remineralization of root surface

i think it is d

As true pocket forms by apical migration of JE and attachment loss is from CEJ to base of pocket. I couldn't get wat this coronal to je distance? if u can pls tell me again, couldn't get yet wat histological pocket depth is:bang:

True pocket is formed due to apical migration of junctional epithelium
that means the pocket is sulcus depth +attachment loss[cej +coronal of je DISTANCE]
sooooooooooooo

its always from marginal gingiva to coronal portion of je.....

🙂

CUD B ANS A FOR SICKLE CELL QUESTION AS WE CAN ASSUME THAT HEMOGLOBIN IS ABNORMAL NOT CELL......CELLS SHOW SICKLING ON HYPOXIC CONDITIONS ONLY👍👍👍......GUD TEAM WORK BENNY😀

depth of the sulcus is 5mm while the distance b/w cej and base of sulcus is 2 mm , what is the attachment loss?

the distance b/w cej and base of sulcus is attachment loss definition,..........so ans is 2 mm only:luck:

plzzzzzzzzzzz help with dis

APOPTOSIS IS SUGGESTIVE OF ?????
COAGULATIVE NECROSIS
or
LIQUIFACTION NECROSIS

apoptosis is naturally occuring cell death & necrosis due to external factors. And out of these coagulative is in ischemic condition while liquifactive involve pus formation, due to bacterial or fungal infection. so i think apoptosis should be suggestive of coagulative? not sure but🙁

I have an old exam that says the answer is B) Liquifaction
but this is straight from Petersons oral surgery!!!
So...it might be .Neoangiogenesis... which is given as an answer choice in my test..

Although processes leading to hypertrophic
scar and keloid formation are not
yet clarified, altered apoptotic behavior is
believed to be a significant factor. Ordinarily,
apoptosis or programmed cell death is
responsible for the removal of inflammatory
cells as healing proceeds and for the evolution
of granulation tissue into scar. Dysregulation
in apoptosis results in excessive
scarring, inflammation, and an overproduction
of extracellular matrix components.
Both keloids and hypertrophic scars
demonstrate sustained elevation of growth
factors including TGF-β , platelet-derived
growth factor, IL-1, and IGF-I.22 The
growth factors, in turn, increase the numbers
of local fibroblasts and prompt excessive
production of collagen and extracellular
matrix. Additionally, proliferative scar
tissue exhibits increased numbers of
neoangiogenesis-promoting vasoactive
mediators as well as histamine-secreting
mast cells capable of stimulating fibrous
tissue growth.

Liquefactive necrosis (or colliquative necrosis) is a type of necrosis which is characteristic of focal bacterial or fungal infections.

So you get an infection...then you get neutrophils...then you get apoptosis which according to my last quote from peterson: apoptosis is responsible for the removal of inflammatory cells as healing proceeds and the evolution of granulation tissue into scar!!!

So the answer must be Liquefactive necrosis

  1. the investigator studies the occurrence of oralCANCER in pts in a private nursing home.what is this . Cross-sectional study, longitudinal study.
  2. What is Ante's Law about,

    A. The relation between the span of the bridge and the poetics
    B. The periodontal area of the abutment teeth

    C. The relation between the length of the root and the abutment.(is it right ans) as this law says pDL area of aboutment should be equal or graeter than pontic, so shouldn't the ans be b

Pretty much the Petersons oral surgery book is god! You can find alot of good info in there but it's over a 1000 pages. so if you know what you're looking for...its good. You can also learn alot on certain subjects on the test.

hi uabsfm, actually ans given for 4 was a, i also thought c, ??
for ques 5, are children able to maintain their good oral hygiene??
for ques 7, ans given was a??

for diagnostic cast ans should be A

hope u will like this dear benny

Cracked Tooth : This crack extends from the occlusal surface of the involved tooth apically, without separation of tooth segments 🙂
This crack is more centrally located than that seen on a cuspal fracture, usually crosses one or both marginal ridges and is more likely to cause pulpal and periodontal inflammatory reactions

😱😱The most commonly involved teeth in descending order of frequency are the mandibular 2nd molars🙂, mandibular 1st molars,🙂 maxillary 1st molars, maxillary 2nd molars and then maxillary premolars.😱😱

[/QUOT I imagine that wen person eat with denture then more force is transferred to base, how it is on teeth?😛

So it means whether its vertical rooth fracture OR cracked tooth, ans is most commonly involved r mandibular molars😎

Its a antihistamine & ques is about which antianxity can we give.

Vistaril also has mild anti-anxiety effects without all the adverse effects associated with heavier sedatives. Given to pedo patients. So I am making assumption that it's also safe to give to pregnant women.

hope dis will help u 🙂>>>>>>>>>>

it means the the core will not compromise its strength
or

core will enhance its strength most
or
core will not decrease or compromise the strength of cast gold
6. The biting load of denture base to tissues compared to teeth are,
A. Ten times more
B. Ten times less>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>@@@@@@@@@@:scared::scared:
C. Equal
[/QUOT I imagine that wen person eat with denture then more force is transferred to base, how it is on teeth?😛

simple way to remember is we can pull even an aeroplane with our own teeth.....:meanie:
but
not while wearing denture
sooooooooo
biting load of denture on tissues is :luck: less :luck:as compared to teeth[/QUOT

So it means whether its vertical rooth fracture OR cracked tooth, ans is most commonly involved r mandibular molars😎

vertical fracture of the mesial root of the mandibular right first molar is most common

Vertical root fractures happen most frequently in teeth that have been endodontically treated (ie. in teeth that have had root canal therapy), or in teeth in which the nerve has been dead for a long time.

now the question is🙄
whish tooth is most commonly carious
i think its mandibular 1st molar only🙄

😍

bacteria esponsible for nursing bottle caries??/?????
lactobacillus
strepto & lacto
strepto & lacto
strepto & lacto & veillonella
strepto & lacto & neisseria

this new problem with me😀
qqqqq>>>>>>>

an 8 year child with normal tooth calcification and eruption has primary mand 2nd molar extracted .the resultant space should be ??????????
