I plan on moving to the beach..to be with the SO, retake the GRE and just live life one day at a time!! I will be applying again next year and probably to a few other schools. It sucks I dont get to meet any of you and be apart of your class but maybe next year!
 
Got my letter as well today - not good news 🙁
in fact, even worse than last year as I didn't get waitlisted this time. Oh well.
Still crossing my fingers for Western!

Gosh..no love for the SDNer's this year. and sorry to those rejected I know it sucks but everything happens for a reason
 
I know! I'm so sorry for all of the bad news =( This is really making me anxious. My mail should come an hour or two. Who is going to be in this class?? That's like 3 people already rejected. Not cool.
 
I didn't get a letter with my mail today, but I live all the way over in Asheville.

Maybe tomorrow :xf:

I want to so bad!! but I have two really hard midterms tomorrow! I still have to pass my classes unforunately. Tomorrow it is ON though. You seem like you are going to make a fantastic doctor Paris and I really really hope that you get in next time. I hope to run into you sometime!

For anyone still waiting, good luck. And just as an FYI they sent my letter to my current address, not my permanent address like I thought they would! What a surprise that was for me!

I guess this year isn't totally bad for me either - cause I'm pregnant and due in July (now that I can finally say that without worrying about influencing the decision!) So at least I have a distraction from my rejection...😉

Wow, congrats on your pregnancy! It does suck about not getting in, but on the plus side, you get to spend a whole year getting to know your baby before the craziness of vet school begins! There's a thread about pregnancy and vet school over in the current vet students forum, and it seems like the general consensus is that starting vet school with a newborn is a lot to handle. Hopefully we will see you next year, though! 🙂
 
Congrats to everyone that got in.

I'm another one who got the bad news today. For those who didn't get in, I would definitely recommend applying again and to some other schools if being a vet is something you really want. Although I'm disappointed at being rejected again, it's also a blessing in disguise since I fell in love with another school and it makes leaving the state a lot easier decision!

I was all bummed out earlier today because I went to my house (permanent address) and checked my mail and nothing. Came back to school tonight, checked my mailbox (current address), and I got in!!!! I am so excited!! Congrats to everyone else who got in! And to those who didn't, I wish you the best and don't give up hope! 🙂

Well, I guess miracles do happen. I got in, under alternative eligibility, with a 2.89 GPA, and a worse last 45. I'll post full details in the stats thread.
 
Yea, I'm planning on deferring a year if I do get in somewhere, so I can spend some time with the little one...

Congrats Armymutt! That is terrific! I can't wait to meet the rest of our class -- it sounds like we are going to be a very diverse group 🙂
 
Getting in on alternative eligibility is no mean feat. Double congratulations!

Congrats to everyone in, condolences to anyone who didn't and best wishes with whatever the alterantive plans are. If your gong to reapply, I think NCSU has review sessions (but I think they are grouped.)

ArmyMutt, I really like hearing that. There were a group of profs that were trying to get alt eligibility shut down last year, and I argued vehemently against it because there are exceptional cases. If you are interested in the Army program (3yrs paid) one of my classmates that came from the Navy is accepted in the program and is pretty happy with it. Her previous time counts to her grade and such. She'd probably be happy to talk about it.

Maybe I will add "Poster boy for the continuation of unpopular programs" to my sig. The fact is that people change. Some us us with a Y chromosome mature slower. There is no way in hell I was ready for this program 10 years ago.

I understand. I probably could have gotten in 10 years ago.... but had so little family support and was so poor, I would have sabotaged it working all the time. I will say my top gripe is that there seem to be so few people that comprehend that not everyone gets to travel the same path.

I always say that I could be a Major by now, but then I wouldn't have met my wife, nor would I have had all the adventures I've had. Most likely anyway.

Does anyone have a timeline on the reception thing in April? Trying to plan it so I can brief my new boss. I'm getting loaned out to another unit to do the same job I've done for 3 years. I'm like the signal hooker of this brigade.

I'm sure they'll send the e-mail to IS people soon, but on the agenda I received it says it begins at 1:15 pm. So excited to meet everyone!

Armymutt - I saw that you were a scuba diver (I might have perused some other threads). I got certified last year, and haven't been able to get out there since but just wanted to let you know your not the only one that enjoys the water sports! Also, I want to congratulate you on just being persistent with veterinary school - pays off.

We take a boat out of Wilmington very early in the mornig, dive two tanks, and return around lunch or dinner time, depending on the distance to the dive site. We also hit the quarries around the area for training. I'll be a dive master by the end of March, so you can have a scuba professional helping you out.

I know I'm not a student at NCSU's vet school....but I am a NC resident and went there for my undergrad. It's always exciting seeing people get into NCSU. Congrats everyone! 👍👍

Might be supplementing my income that way. This is open to all divers, BTW. We have a lot of divers, even a position in one of the clubs for organizing diving.

Several of us are rescue divers. I'd be an instructor by now if I had time! Been diving for over a decade.

:laugh: hahaha...I did a search, too! And no, I didn't see one. Who's gonna step up and do it? If y'all want me to, I will. I just don't want to make one and then find out that there's already been one made, lol.
 
Um, okay facebook group has been made, except apparently facebook groups suck now because you have to "add" people to it before it can be created, and you can't just add yourself. I had to add my hubby to it in order to create the group.

Let me know if y'all can search for it. It's called "NCSU CVM c/o 2015" and it's set to open, so hopefully it will show up in a search. The facebook groups aren't like they used to be, so I'm not sure how helpful this group will be, but it's there.

No luck here either! Maybe you have the privacy setting on closed when you created the group? I dont know...I was just looking at how to make a group...and it automatically had the privacy set to closed? Maybe that is the problem?

nvm...just saw your edited version saying it was set to open...I have no clue now! haha
 
OK, I found it! I had to search CVM c/o 2015 to find out, but I didn't include the NCSU in front of it.
