Need book recommendations!

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to ask for some book recommendations to help me reach my goals. First, I was wondering if anyone could recommend some books with practical information on ethololgy. I have a fair deal of experience with a lot of domestic animals but I'd like to learn more about some of the intricacies of animal behavior. Next, can anyone recommend a good book, be it fiction, autobiography, biography, narrative, that helped you through times of uncertainty. I'd really like to hear some of the accounts of well known doctors (be them human or animal doctors) to help me understand my own path.

It is not classically inspirational, but Tell Me Where it Hurts by Nick Trout reminds me why I love vet med.

I really liked The Plague by Albert Camus because while it can be depressing, a lot of it is about the daunting challenges faced by a doctor in difficult ethical dilemmas.

Temple Grandin has some interesting books (http://www.amazon.com/Animals-Translation-Mysteries-Autism-Behavior/dp/0156031442/ref=sr_1_5?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1341502441&sr=1-5&keywords=temple+grandin) on animal behavior that are not necessarily your typical behavior books. Frankly, I think all non-fiction behavior "books" are somewhat useless. They use a lot of anecdotal evidence (i.e. dog whisperer) and don't really look into the basic concepts of all animal behavior. If you are truly interested in looking into animal behavior I would invest in a decent text. If your focus is small animal and you are looking at it from a clinical point of view, you can't go wrong with Dr. Overall's text http://www.amazon.com/Clinical-Behavioral-Medicine-Small-Animals/dp/0801668204.

I seriously have a laundry list of animal behavior books that I think are top notch (did my MS in animal behavior). So depending on what you are looking for, I could recommend some more.
