Who's everyone's favourite author(s)? Mine are Hunter S. Thompson & Haruki Murakami.
Recent years, I've loved Lucy Foley's books and Riley Sager!Who's everyone's favourite author(s)? Mine are Hunter S. Thompson & Haruki Murakami.
Murakami is one of my favourite authors as well. I also like Kurt Vonnegut, and David Mitchell.Who's everyone's favourite author(s)? Mine are Hunter S. Thompson & Haruki Murakami.
This makes me want to reread it again! I think the last time I was 15 (when Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes came out) & I remember thinking it was great, so now I'm curious. Are you planning to read Sunrise on the Reaping?Just reread the Hunger Games series for the first time in probably 15 years. Gotta say, not as well written as I remember and the movies were actually not that bad in comparison.
Michael Crichton. I think I've read almost every one of his books, and I've read Jurassic Park over 7 times. I don't really think there's any other authors I've read most of their books. I tend to stick with series or one-offs more than I stick with an author specifically.Who's everyone's favourite author(s)? Mine are Hunter S. Thompson & Haruki Murakami.

LOVE Michael Crichton!! I feel like I don't run into a lot of people who appreciate his books so I'm glad to find someone else who does.Michael Crichton. Also, cannot recommend Lesson in Chemistry enough if you like a bit of a witty, logical view on life. The end was a bit so-so and big trigger warning for SA, but I really enjoyed it.
Reading this made me realise was half a decade ago & I genuinely wanted to scream.
Dostoevsky is mine. I got very into his stuff when I went through a phase of reading classics a few years agoWho's everyone's favourite author(s)? Mine are Hunter S. Thompson & Haruki Murakami.
I am just starting Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut! Any other recs?Murakami is one of my favourite authors as well. I also like Kurt Vonnegut, and David Mitchell.
I can’t think of Dostoevsky without thinking of the movie Little Miss Sunshine— have you seen it?Dostoevsky is mine. I got very into his stuff when I went through a phase of reading classics a few years ago
Yeeeeees. He was such a weird (and very problematic) dude, and his books reflect that. Congo, Airframe, Prey, and Next were ones that really stuck with me.LOVE Michael Crichton!! I feel like I don't run into a lot of people who appreciate his books so I'm glad to find someone else who does.
If you're wanting more Vonnegut, my other favorites of his were The Sirens of Titan and Mother Night.I am just starting Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut! Any other recs?
Good but also somewhat different. I didn’t think the second one was as good but the third really had some great moments.Literally started Fourth Wing like a month ago and have yet to finish, have to get on that asap! Are the next two books also good?
I absolutely adored all three of the books!!!Literally started Fourth Wing like a month ago and have yet to finish, have to get on that asap! Are the next two books also good?
Not yet, but I'll check it out this weekend after exams. Very apt timing since I just started a read through of one of his books with a friendI can’t think of Dostoevsky without thinking of the movie Little Miss Sunshine— have you seen it?
I thought ToG was so boring and remedial. I DNF. It was so overdone and tried way too hard to be something without the depth it needed.I'm currently working through Heir of Fire by Sarah Maas... not loving the Throne of Glass nearly as much as ACOTAR and that surprises me given the differences in themes. However, I recently read Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro and I NEEEEEED someone to appreciate it the way I did.
I just started so I will commiserate with you in a week or two ... (my reading is done via audiobook on my commute)Hi hello I am bringing this thread back because I just finished Sunrise on the Reaping and I need someone to commiserate with me pls

YAY TELL MEWent a little crazy with the spring cleaning while listening to audiobooks this weekend so I've finished Sunrise on the Reaping and I have thoughts
Just finished Onyx Storm and oh. my. gosh. I have no words. Also I really thought it was a completed trilogy, so imagine my surprise getting to the last page with more questions than answers, only to find out she’s “taking a break” before writing the next two books. I am a mess.
I bought the Throne of Glass series today! It was cheaper at B&N to get the box set than buy them individually, so looks like i’ve got my summer plans set!I have so many thoughts and feels. I also didn't know there were more books coming out too.
I also just bought Reaping, so now I know what I'm doing today

I fear I may have jinxed myself by buying the box set 💀 I’m on the second TOG book now but the first one was painful to get through. Everyone seems to swear by this series though, so i’m going to at least tough it out for two more books and hope it picks up.I got very burned by Bridgerton when I bought the whole set all at once. 😭 I am now going to borrow from the library before I do that again

At this point I feel like I've read more reviews like this than good reviews! Seems to be pretty divisive!finished My Year of Rest and Relaxation. I do
NOT recommend. I know I am a little late to reading it, it got a lot of buzz a few years ago I think. But I think it got more attention for its appealing cover than the actual content of the book itself. Wasn’t bad enough for me to quit reading it because I felt like it had the potential to come together in the end. Nope. Ending sucked. If anyone else has read it, maybe we can commiserate.
LOVEEEE The Anthropecene Reviewed and Everything is Tuberculosis!!!! John Green is obviously known as a novelist but my god, nonfiction is what he is meant to do and I just crave more by him. Everyone in healthcare should read Everything is Tuberculosis.I've read 19 books so far this year which is infinitely more than the 0 I've read every year for the past decade! That includes a lot of audiobooks.
