Not to burst anyone’s bubble, but the scholarship is verrrrry competitive. It’s not given out to average “do-gooders”, like myself.
I went to a top 30 undergrad, had a scientific publication, worked at an inner city school for 3 years teaching full time, 31 mcat, MD school, and disadvantaged status (but not EFN bc that wasn’t a program at my undergraduate unfortunately). Thought I’d be a great candidate for the program not only bc of my background but because working with disadvantaged populations isn’t just an interest, it’s my passion. Applied for 3 years, haven’t gotten it yet. So again, not trying to burst bubbles, but just hoping to set realistic expectations. I was very, very disappointed the first year I got the rejection email; but it’s not about how hard you fall, it’s about how quickly you get back up. Best of luck to all of you and remember to keep your head up and keep applying if it doesn’t work out the first time around.
