Welcome! Here’s a crash course explanation

If you’ve ever played mafia or werewolf in real life, it’s like that except over posts! You’ll get a PM telling you your role and affiliation (village, wolf, or some other third party with a different win condition), then on the game thread talk with people to try to figure out who are the wolves and convince people you’re not a wolf. Wolves know who else is a wolf, villagers do not. Wolves win if they reach the same number of wolves as villagers, villagers win if all wolves (and other factions that could kill off or convert villagers) are eliminated. Every day, one person is eliminated by popular vote. Every night ~one person is killed (approx one because there are special roles some people, both village and non-village, have like protecting from kills or extra kills that will affect the number) by the wolves.

So, what is WW? (Credit to @Trilt)
WW - "Werewolf" - is a forum-based version of the classic party game "Mafia." You may have played it at camp at some point. Peruse the wikipedia entry and see if it looks familiar.

No? That's okay. Fundamentally, WW is a game of a small informed minority (the wolves) trying to kill off a confused, uninformed majority (the villagers). The villagers are, obviously, trying to figure out the bad guy wolves before they are all killed.

There is a simple day-night cycle to the game. During the day, all of the players talk together and decide one person that they believe to be a wolf. This person is killed - "yoten" - and removed from the game. At that point, whether they are wolf or village (or... other!) is revealed. During the night, the wolves plot together and decide on a villager to kill (who is, again, removed from the game).

Hello all. WW Noob Game 2021 will begin December 30th, in case you missed previous updates. We have some final things to get in line before beginning, so I want to ensure everyone is aware of the start date and still is on board to play.

Players: Please indicate you saw this message and intend to play starting December 30th by liking this post. You will be notified by another tag when the game thread opens. Please let me know if you are backing out, though we will miss you very much if you do!
Mentors: I assume y'all are responsible or something so notify me on some variety of messaging platform if you're bailing ship. Cray is the only person with an acceptable excuse to disappear randomly

Sign Ups are still open until Tuesday, December 28th for anyone else wishing to play. They will then close for me to finalize the game design.
