The 23rd...where all are you interviewing at? I noticed you don't seem to post about your invites anywhere. Moosey's a secretive one 😛
Anybody who has received an interview willing to share their MCAT score?
Thank you so much! 😀
So I'm flying in on Saturday the 25th for my interview on the 28th. What's there to do/see? Which hotel should I stay at?
all the best.27Q (8p/8v/11b) Oct. 26 interview.

Comfort Suites Ft Lauderdale Airport West
2540 Davie Rd, Davie, FL

They have a free shuttle that will pick you up from the FLL airport (call them when you get there, do not take the taxi otherwise you'll pay over $20 like I did last year) and the shuttle will also take you to NSU for your interview. Also, free continental breakfast at the hotel.
Sorry, gotta go. I would write more but i have an Anatomy exam today.
😉 Yes, I am kinda taking a 'mini break' right now from all the studying.
Good luck you guys, I still think NSU is great (even though I'm facing exams for the next three weeks)

may I ask how long it took from the time you application was complete to the time you received the good news?

The beach is 10-15 min east of campus. Downtown fort lauderdale has a bunch of clubs/bars/restaurants. There is beach place (right on fort lauderdale beach) which has a bunch of shops/restaurants. There is a huge mall northwest of campus called Sawgrass Mills mall which has every store/outlet store you can think of. There is also the hardrock casino about 10 minutes away which is a hotel/casino and has a whole outside section full of clubs/bars/restaurants.
All the things you don't get to enjoy all that much once you are a medical student...haha.
That's where I'm staying and my interview is also on the 28th. See you there Sinfest!

I'll be flying into FLL at 6:20AM that day from the West Coast, and I was planning to go straight to NSU from there. Is there any chance I can call that Comfort Suites shuttle and have them take me to NSU (i.e., will they want to verify my information before sending over the shuttle)?
It's a long shot, but if not, I'll take the taxi. Thanks!
I think you have to be a guest at the Comfort Suites because the last time I was there, the hotel operator asked for my full name to verify before she had the shuttle pick me up. But definitely call them and ask.I'll be flying into FLL at 6:20AM that day from the West Coast, and I was planning to go straight to NSU from there. Ok, so I never knew that you could already send in Nova's secondaries before the primary applications had even been sent (submitted 8/28, verified 9/7 due to labor day, sent to schools tomorrow 9/14)...I already feel like I'm applying kind of late because it wasn't until late in the summer that I decided to apply this cycle (I was planning on next cycle..). Do I even stand a chance at getting interviewed? I re-took my MCAT on Sept 3 (I did horribly on the first one, I'm too embarrassed to even mention how low I scored), but my cum GPA is 3.4, science 3.4, with plenty of medical field work as well as a decent amount of volunteer service thrown in. I'm from South Florida so this is one of my top schools on my list.

I forgot to add: In case you guys want to leave your luggage behind at the Comfort Suites while you're attending your NSU interview, the hotel staff will lock up your stuff in their office until you return to the hotel. They did this for us last year, I recall. But again, call them first to verify.
Goodeveryone!
Gotta study for the written portion of the Anatomy exam tomorrow (will be harder than today's lab practical exam). Please enjoy your free time
before med school..I know this is oft-repeated advice from several med students but it's so true.
I scheduled my interview with NSU a week or so ago and I believe they said they would email a packet with info about the interview day and directions and such, but I haven't seen anything. Does it usually take awhile? Or should I call?
Just got back from the interview and all i can say is this i hope i get accepted here....this school is awesome, the faculty is so nice and attending...interview was more laid back and casual....the environment was less stressful..it was all i could i ask for but as usual rain comes out of nowhere lol only in south florida will that ever happen haha : )
Could you tell us some of the questions they asked?
For those of you who have received interview invites - what did you have sent in before receiving the interview? I know other schools don't require you to have the DO letter prior to interview, but is this the same policy for Nova? I'm still waiting on my DO rec letter (still trying to find a DO to shadow in Tallahassee) but I have all my other letters ready to be sent. Would they still not consider my application as complete aka no interview?
Could you tell us some of the questions they asked?
The questions included stuff like tell us about yourself in two minutes, opinion on health care reform, why DO and why nova, what was the most difficult course you might have taken and what did you do, health care experiences, and a few others..can't remember but not too hard. Hope this helps!
Just got this in my inbox from them...
"Thank you for your interest in Nova Southeastern University.
We are pleased to acknowledge today's receipt of the following document(s) for admission to Nova Southeastern University:
- DRESSC
Not to quote the Double-Rainbow guy but "What does it mean?" My app and LORs have been in for a while and I just interviewed on Tuesday. No status updates on WebStar. Any ideas?
- CCONDU"
For those of you who were in interview group 1, the book on interviewing for medical school I was referencing is:
"The Medical School Interview" by Jeremiah Fleenor, MD
http://www.amazon.com/Medical-Schoo...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1284602096&sr=8-1
Its fairly useful. It at least narrows down the wealth of information you need to convey in 30minutes or less.

I am scheduled for 11/9/10, i am comming from Seattle, WA
Thanks.
ahhhhhhhh. so they sent me an e-mail telling me to call and set up an interview. I called them and they said there aren't any more open interview slots at this time? wtf?? they said that if someone cancels I can take their spot so please let me know if any of you get accepted somewhere else and/or decide not to attend your nsu interview.
Thanks!!!
I gave a tour to the interviewees about a week ago and they were all types of nervous. After I told them a few jokes and made them laugh, they really loosened up and it set them up to do well in the interview. You just need to relax and be yourself! Good luck to all!
Good luck Mega, and everyone else interviewing tomorrow. Make sure you all let us know how it goes 👍
Haha, on point dude. Yeah I just came on to say I'm at my hotel and to see if anyone else was going to be interviewing tomorrow. I'll def let you know how it goes.

I'm still in the lonely land of Invited for an Interview waiting for a change.
