Hi All....
I can't believe this place drew me back in!! I haven't been on in so long, but while reading your posts, I felt compelled to offer some perspective. I am currently a third year student at NYCOM and having recently taken the boards, I can confidently say that there was nothing on my board exam that was not covered to some extent by our professors at NYCOM - whether it was an in depth explanantion of the subject or one that merely scratched the surface. I did well on the boards as did most of my classmates - at least those I have been able to get in touch with. Additionally, if there is one thing I learned from the whole experience is that you cannot depend on your school to teach you everything that is going to be on the boards. I complained about NYCOM each and every day of my first two years. I would complain about how they weren't teaching to the boards, etc. After sitting for my boards, I realized that they had done a great job with what little time they had. There is far too much information in medicine than can ever be taught in 2 years. My advice to you guys is to make the most of what NYCOM has to offer, although some days you may ask yourself exactly what that is. You will all pass the boards, you will all do well in medical school!! My parting words - GET FIRST AID AND START ANNOTATING IT NOW!!! There was nothing on the boards that was not in First Aid.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to PM me.
Best of luck to all of you.....you are all on your way!!
