Dude, like I said I wasn't tyring to be a d***. I've been around SDN for quite awhile -- in one form or another -- and more often than not, people with few posts who suddenly post something like what I mentioned are just trying to get a rise out of people. After having one too many heart attacks because of some trollish pre-allo post, I've become a little suspicious.

At any rate, congrats on your acceptance. Now go out and celebrate!
 
I hate to fan the fire but I thought this information might help you all:

I got into NYU in December and recently had a couple phone exchanges with the admissions office about my mailed in acceptance letter/deposit. They told me that a bunch of the reply form envelopes had been slightly misaddressed and had gone to another department (which explained why they hadn't gotten mine on time) and that they were trying to round them all up because they are sending more acceptances "sometime next week". This phone conversation was last Friday... I don't know if that was an estimate or precise. I also think it's a little fishy for just one SDN person to post when they are clearly accepting in waves.
 
So no one but me's been informed that they're sending out acceptances regularly? Maybe I did just get someone mininformed...

Are you guys sure? That was definitely what they told me.

I called up and they told me they do it periodically, but next week should be a wave of letters.
 
So I called NYU to ask if emails go out in batches, or waves or whatever and the lady said that its random depending on when committees meet - so she didnt commit a real answer

The point: if no one else has heard, it is likely they will send out another batch soon, because I must agree that it is strange that no one else has posted an acceptance

Yeah... I don't want to hear anything good from Yale either, but I was thinking I needed to clarify a bit. Hearing that there is free cake in the lunch-room is good news and all, but it's not exactly what I'm hoping for this week. 😎
 
ahh man! the lady I called didn't tell me anything. She said she really can't tell me when the next acceptances will be sent out but that they will be sent till Feb. 15th. 🙄

Anyone else feel sort of apathetic about NYU in the past few weeks? As I have been checking my e-mail every hour for the past month, I've started to realize that I don't care anymore. If they accept me, I will probably go there... if they reject me, I will go somewhere else. Maybe I'm just bracing myself for the worst...
 
I got an acceptance email today (1/22) at about 1:30.

Word. I'm getting extremely tired of caring at this point. I'm tired of being sick and tired and patient (ahem... Cornell).

I think it's quite odd that two batches of acceptances went out during the third week of December, and now acceptances are being distributed randomly in drips and drabs. I'm just frustrated and don't quite understand their methodology. Here's to hoping for good news this week!

Seriously. I also hate how waitlists and rejections go out later -- that could be me the whole time, and they won't tell me. Just let me know! :scared:

I'm guessing they won't know themselves for awhile. They are probably waiting for the december folks to respond before sending out this batch (hence the trickle) and in February they will have heard from some of the January folks and a few more spots - though not many - will open up. I'd bet that anyone who doesn't hear this week from them doesn't have much of a shot at getting a straight acceptance though. :-\
 
If any are going out today, they won't be going out until 1:30ish, that's when other people have been hearing.

So is anyone else just hovering over their email pathetically right now because the latest of a hundred theories about NYU's acceptance policy that have been thrown around on this forum says they send out acpetances around 1:30? Just asking.

NYU, you have killed my soul.
