I am just wondering which schools have programs for OD/PhD or OD/MS? How long does it take?
Thanks

UHCO has a seven year OD/PhD program.

I do not believe that they offer OD/MS, but I could be mistaken.

Indiana has both programs, but not officially as a joint program you sign up for. Most people just start in the OD and a prof convinces them to do a masters also, or something like that. Some people do the OD/MS in 4 years. I don't know any OD/PhD's except for profs, so Im not sure how long it takes.

for real? I am looking for something like that LOL. not 7 years. 4 years is enough

Do any schools offer an OD/MBA or OD/MPH? I think SUNY has some options but they come with an added cost.

I've looked a lot into getting a dual degree- I have done research as an undergrad and enjoy it. The schools that I know that have a dual degree program are UAB (MS in 4 years and PhD in 7), in Houston you can get a 2 year residency that includes a MS, and they have a OD/PhD for 7 years. Berkeley and SUNY both have an OD/PhD program, but I don’t know much about them. Although they are 7 years it’s a full ride with a salary – UAB’s is 21000 a year, but its still ALOT of work and time. I think OSU might have dual degree programs also.

UAB is the only school I know of that has a combined OD/MPH

SUNY = OD/MS I know someone who was accepted into the O.D./M.S. program at SUNY. It is designed to be done in 4 years (and includes all your summers for research). It actually does not cost anything extra. In fact, you get paid a bit of money ~$3000 for your summers of research. It's a great deal if you're into research. Some people do the program in 5 years, but it's really meant to be done in 4.

Pacific = O.D./M.P.H. They have a joint program with a nearby school ( I think). This program is also designed to be finished in 4 years. This program does have an additional cost associated with it, but I have no idea how much it is.

ICO has an OD/Ph.D program. It is 6 years. You do your first two years at ICO, then you go to University of Chicago (I think) and do two years of research (the Ph.D stuff), then you come back to ICO and do your last two years. They started the program about 4 or 5 years ago, but no one has done it yet.
