I have a friend who goes to Adler. She likes it pretty well, though she says that she misses research.

Got an invite to Fairleigh Dickinson University yesterday. It was a mass e-mail from the Department Secretary. Interviews are on 02/14 and 02/15. :scared:

was this for their Clinical PhD? Do you know if they're done sending out invitations?

Call from dept. admin at LIU-Brooklyn on 2/8, for an interview on 2/28 or 3/7 for the Clinical Psych PhD.

Pure silence from University of Southern California, anyone hear if they are doing more interviews or if they're done?

I spoke to Ms. Morningway on Friday (2/6/09). She said they will be sending more invites on Monday :xf:

Any word on invites or when we might hear about invites?

I second that! Thanks for doing such a great job Lucyguard. YOU ROCK!!! 👍

Thanks guys!!! i hope it's been helpful.

The list is getting ridiculously long tho and we're almost geting into the final step of this process: interviews and acceptances. Join me if you're scared!!!😱 LOL

Hey, lucy, if you have time you might want to consider adding the date I got the UND invite. It was Feb 5.

Just thought I'd say that because I think it's really nice to know on the main page when the invites were sent out. 😀 Helps out next year's applicants, I mean.

And, yeah, I reiterate everyone else's statements: you're doing a great job, thanks 😀

hey cara susanna, thanks for pointing that out. It's fixed!!! 🙂

According to their website, they're meeting on Monday February 16th to decide on the fates of us mortals. I know SCORES of applicants are waiting on Rutgers to metaphorically release their grips on our throats.

Until then, find a hobby.

Peace.😎

Just a curiosity question: where did you find this info? I looked ALL OVER the page for the Clinical Psy.D. program as well as the main page for the GSAPP and found nothing...

enlighten me

Hey,
Anyone have updates on Clinical Ph.D programs at-
Teacher's College (Columbia U.)
George Washington U.

Good luck to everyone and thanks!

Is there any more news on UNCG?

I ask because honestly it was one of my last hopes... and I guess I really thought I had a decent chance of getting an interview.

I know several people who already received the invites (could you PM me with your POI??) but really wanted to know if they were done with invites or is there still a shred of hope left? :scared:

PSYCHaddiction - what kind of questions did they ask you during the SUNY Buffalo phone interview and who was the POI. I got my master's degree from there and I had a letter writer in the department and I did not hear from them, so I am a little curious.

gtown1115 - in terms of Cincinnati, I emailed the secretary last week and she said no decisions had been made yet. They had two snow storms which set the process behind.

Does anyone know if Syracuse, UMBC, or Maryland-College Park are still in the process of contacting people? I realize they have already contacted people, but will this be ongoing?

email from grad sec. at FDU just now. Interivew on Feb. 14th.

My 2nd interivew and I am floating on air!

A response for those questions regarding UB...I work in two labs there and volunteer in a third. All three of my letter writers work in the clinical department. After the phone interview they will contact those people who they would like to extend offers to and invite you for an applicant weekend. Very much like an interview weekend, except you are already accepted. They said that they went through the process fairly early this year, so should be contacting applicants soon, if they have not already extended an offer. Hope this helps!

invites still coming. just received phone call from dept secretary for interview on feb 28

I know some people have mentioned receiving stuff from Nova, but does anyone have info on the following (I have presumably been rejected from 6 of my 12 schools, so I'm getting nervous):

Nova Southeastern (Ph.D or Psy.D)
Jackson State University (Ph.D)
Central Michigan University (Ph.D)
Western Michigan University (Ph.D)
University of Southern Mississippi (Ph.D)
Howard University (Ph.D)

I know someone said they received correspondence from Central Michigan already, but the graduate school contacted me last week saying they will not make any decisions until March (hmmm). Thanks so much!

I see on the "2009 Interview Invite Thread" that the phone interviews occurred 1/13 though. Did you receive your phone interview that early or was it recently?

Do you think it hurt me that I received both my undergrad and grad degrees UB, while I concentrated in behavioral neuroscience on my way to earning these degrees (although I do have over a year of clinical research experience and I expressed how/why I switched towards clinical psychology in my personal statement)?

mrlisham--

I received my phone interview around then (1/13). I don't think that receiving your degrees at UB will hurt you, but beck1164 may know the answer to this better than I since they actually work there!!

Best of luck!

Received email from program manager inviting me for an interview on February 20th.

Haven't heard a thing though the application deadline was a little later than most.

Just got a call from the program administrative contact inviting me to interview. Interview days are Feb. 27 and March 2. They do interview blocks, so you sign up for either morning or afternoon on one of the two days.

Does anyone know what's up with Feinberg's PhD program? I see some people posted that they received interview invites and rejections, but I have not received either.

they say they are done sending out invitations for interviews for the clinical phd

Interview at Case Western! Yippppeee!!!!!!!

And since I am sure people will want to know, this was for Pediatric Psych, it was by e-mail, and it was addressed specifically to me. Oh, and I am late in the alphabet (I have no reason to think that this is being done alphabetically, but just to hit all the bases 😀).

Yeaaaahhhhh!! 🙂

I actually didn't receive a rejection per se, I checked the application website and there was a link to view their "decision." If you don't see anything there once you've logged in (it would be at the bottom of the page), it'd probably be ok to contact the school and find out what the deal is (IMO).

Thanks! I probably will call/email. My online status page doesn't even have a view decision link.

I just called them- all invites have been extended for Northwestern Feinberg's clinical program. They said they haven't finished updating the "view decision" page for everyone.
They also said that they will be calling their "interview standby list" today- I guess these people will be runner-ups for interviews? But the bottom line was that all calls for this standby list will be made today, everyone else is rejected. 🙁

Just in case anyone is interested, I contacted Yeshiva University (Ferkauf Graduate Schoool of Psychology) and they will continue to extend invitations for interviews until at least the end of February... so if there's anyone else like me who's waiting to hear from them - there's still hope!! 🙂

Got my first official rejection letter this weekend from Loyola College in Maryland. 🙁 They encouraged me to apply to their Masters program and made it really easy with a simple form you just had to return. I'm wondering if they send this to everyone... has anyone else received something similar?

When I called Loyola they told me I couldn't apply to the masters because I was Clinical Psych... what did you apply to? Did you call and speak to someone about the program?

Checked phone at work and had voicemail from U of Denver clinical psyd program wanting to do interview 2/28. I'm booked that weekend. (So many schools wanted that weekend.) I'll try to resched, but who knows....

I received an invitation to interview at Nova Southeastern (Psy.D) via email on January 30 - interview is on March 2.

I applied to the Clinical PsyD program. I never called and talked to anyone - just got a letter saying I hadn't been accepted to the PsyD program, but I should apply for some of their masters program - they have counseling and clinical and you can do practitioner or thesis track for either. I just had to send back a simple form with a check mark indicating to please consider me for that program.

i think they were talking about the one in maryland, not the one in chicago. anyway if you really want to apply to a masters program at the one in chicago, just email the regular graduate admissions people, not the psych dept ones. i think the email is [email protected], and explain that you want to transfer your app to X program, and they'll send you a form to fill out!

Oh yeah youre right! Thank you.. I just emailed them. 🙂

If it makes you feel any better, I was invited to interview at Loyola MD last yr, but was not accepted. I figured strengthening by app (and keeping in constant contact with my POI!) would guarantee at least another interview this yr, but I was just told that I was flat out rejected... majorly disappointed.

That is WONDERFUL!!!! Many congrats

This process is SO brutal!!!

The only thing that keeps my from going crazy is reading that everyone else is going through this same process.... I had no idea how much this would effect my self-esteem!

contacted last Thursday about two neuropsych clin. phd interviews.

- Phone call from POI at the University of Houston for Feb. 20/21st
- Email from admissions coordinator at University of Alabama at Birmingham for March 1/2nd
