I just spoke with one of the people in the grad admissions office and apparently not all of their invites have been sent out yet. She said the remaining invites should be going out this week and/or next week. 🙂
Just wandering if anybody is familiar with the admission process at Berkeley clinical track. I'm trying to guess whether they are done sending interview invites or not. Any info much appreciated. Thanks!

Definitely. And keep in mind that this is maybe the most competitive year ever to get in because of a combination of: 1) the economic depression means less money available for the program and fewer slots as a result, 2) there are more applicants due to the slow economy (people trying to ride it out in school) plus historical trends indicating an increase in the number of clinical applicants every year anyway across the board.
So a rejection is normal and by no means a reflection of your ability or your standing relative to the rest of students. - For the most part, only the cream of the crop apply to a PhD program, and you're one of those. Even getting an invite to many places should be considered an achievement. Actually getting in = a combo of luck, fit, and interview ability.
But most all of us are perfectionists, overachievers and not used to failure/rejection EVER in our academic pursuits, much less a whole string of them. So it's going to hurt regardless.
Well this sucks- before, the website said interviewees would be notified Feb 1st. Now it says: "2009: UNC will hold its Interview Day on Friday February 20, 2009. All applicants invited for an interview have been notified."
Where did you see this? I checked the website, and it still says:

under "Application Process" (http://www.unc.edu/depts/clinpsy/program/applying.html)
Sadly.. I went looking for this, too.. just to see it with my own eyes! I found it here:

This stinks!!!!
Smeevil, could you please tell me what your last name starts with in case they are doing things alphabetically?
Last name starts with P. I am sure they are still inviting people.
My sentiments exactly. Sigh.
Honestly I feel ridiculous for coming into this whole process thinking I had a decent chance of getting into a program. I think it's finally sunk in that it's slim to none at this point. I will no go indulge in comfort food and bad reality television (they help me see that it could always be worse! haha).
Hello all!
I'm confused with LaSalle University PsyD - it is on the master list of schools that have sent out invites, however, their webpage says that the deadline is February 15th... Is the website wrong? I just assumed it would be right. But if they are already giving out invites....I guess the deadline has passed, right?
Has anyone had their POI send them copies of their grants and recent publications to review prior to the interview? And if so, what do you think they will be looking for regarding these materials?
I received an interview invite today. It was an email 'signed' by my POI, but actually sent by the Associate Director of Psychology Admission (it was from his email address).
One of my POIs did, and I'm just assuming they'll expect you to have read them and have some comments/opinions/ideas. I read them over a few times, read some of the articles they cited, and came up with a list of questions to ask about the studies, and also some ideas about how I could contribute/do work in the lab that addresses some of the issues/research questions meriting more study that thier study brought to mind (and matches what I said I wanted to do in my personal statement)...you can't prepare too much, can you?
Just got an email invite from the admissions coordinator at CUNY PhD for an interview to be set up with a faculty member and student.
Edit: this is clinical psych at the Grad Center
I got this too. I am confused. Do we contact both the faculty member and student?
Agreed. Preparation is key. I am just worried that they might expect a well formulated research proposal based on the grants already in place or if they want more general thoughts/research ideas.

hey...did this appear to be a mass email (i.e. do you think they are done with invites)?

hey guys, I'm not familiar with these schools so I just wanted to check if there's more than one campus. We already have a CUNY Queen's College on the list. Is this the same? If not, how should I list it????

No it was at least partially personalized because the faculty and student with whom you interview is specific to you. Actually, they made a mistake the first time I guess and gave me the wrong two people to contact, so I got a second email with the new set. My guess is they aren't done, but I have no idea.
Can I complain for a minute? A lot of people from my high school class are applying to law school. They already know of their acceptances and are complaining that they only got into their backups, not their top choices.
It makes me want to cry. We don't even HAVE backups!
I just called Fordham today and spoke with the secretary and she said that they are still in the process of contacting people about interviews. Some people have posted here that they are done with their invites. Do you guys think that she was just saying that to get me off their back until rejection letters come out, or is it true?
Maybe there is still some hope!

what?!? that's crazy!! all this week i've been hearing they're done, they're done. i didn't want to call again because i just called last week... but maybe i will try emailing tomorrow. wtf!!
Well, how's this for frustration: I was telling someone about how competitive this process is and how schools will only take in a class of anywhere from 3-8 (average). I think pretty much all of my schools only traditionally take about 6. Well, this person looked at me and said I was probably mistaken and that it is not that hard to get in to grad school . "A class of 6 is not even a class now, is it?" - he said. 😕
