Hey guys. So I gave the exam and now I am mortified. I made so many silly mistakes, 30 of which I know for sure. I am devastated even though my NBMEs were good. 248 in NBME 19 and 248 in NBME 18 both taken a day apart. My UWSA 1 and 2 were 266 and 262 respectively, all taken in the last week as i had to hurry up and give the exam (my eligibility period was expiring). I cant sleep im terrified about so so many silly mistakes and the last minute option changes. My exam was so unusual. 2 line questions and stuff. :/ Any emotional support would be appreciated. I feel like i flunked the exam. SO MANY MISTAKES.

My NBMEs are around yours but my UWSA r much less...n I feel just like you. I am getting my score next week I think...n I keep thinking how I will react when my school tells me I fail. So yes you are not alone. There will always doubt and insecure unless you actually see your score, but try to tell yourself you try your best....and keep praying for the best...

I think the exam is much more doable than I assumed. Everything is in UFAP. It should teach to think more than memorize. There was not as much memorization as I thought on the exam, but more do you understand the disease and would you be able to understand how it affects this system, or this lab value etc. That's why it might not have felt really difficult because it wasn't a lot of things I didn't see but more that it was thinking of how they all related and not just remembering "Oh, this goes up and this goes down". I'm planning on writing a full write up when I get my score. Nonetheless, UFAP until you're blue.

I noticed that Kaplan prep course also has UFAP. Like some of their video link you back to UFAP. So, for the actual exam, would you recommend dishing Kaplan and going UFAP mode now?
I keep on asking because most school offer Kaplan for free to their student so i am trying to see if anyonne had success with it.

Also do you feel like Zanky or any other software that you used helped you?

I've heard that at my school, they actually post our scores on our student portal before they're posted on the website. Also someone who failed told me they got a call from the school the second their score came out.

Lol cool now that I know that I'm going to be refreshing my student portal continuously from 8-11am. I just want this to be over so I can move on with my life!!

I did about 70% of the Kaplan questions and I did feel like it did test that little line on the bottom of page 557, but what that did was help you think a little why the other answers might be wrong. Not a bad qbank, not essential either. I dont know about the course.

Zanki is good if you have time and start early. Its essentially UFAP. You genuinely need nothing other than UFAP. I'm myself so amazed that it was all in UFAP. The exact answer they ask might not always be but they should teach you to think and understand the disease process from multiple aspects to answer the questions. Boards and Beyond was also helpful for me.

Do it twice. Itll teach you what you forgot and what you really dont understand. I used Kaplan lightly, it is not necessary at all. Dont think it made a difference honestly. Boards and beyond is great, I would highly recommend it. Use it to really listen and understand. I cant express this enough. I got to some questions on the exam that literally asked me just something about the disease or how to things in the disease related and it's so obvious sometimes when they're separate but did you ever think of how the two related etc. I'm really trying to stress how doable the exam is but it can seem impossible if all you do is memorize and then come to the exam and it doesnt ask you simply what is the FEV in a COPD patient but how that relates to something else. That's how you have to walk into each resource.

Thanks 🙂 I just keep trying to remind myself that based on my practice exams and how I felt after the test, there's no reason to think I dropped below a 240. Which was my original goal!

I feel you trust me. I feel like I dropped below 220, but from my scores (UWSA only) i can be moderately confident I would get a 240. Heads up and we should be getting our scores sooner than we think!

what time do step scores usually come out on Wednesday? And do we get an email notification when the score is released?

My permit button(s) just disappeared today! My eligibility period would have expired on 7/31, FWIW

Everyone posting about disappearing permit can you please add if you’re registered with NBME or ECFMG it’ll be really helpful

when people say permit button disappeared, do they mean the actual option has disappeared or when you click on it, it says something like you have already sat for the exam? I can still click on mine, but then it just redirects me to a page that says I've already sat for the exam

Wait what... mine disappeared too. Even though i took the exam 6/28. What in the name of.... I can't get my result in 2 weeks right? (July 11th that is).
