Has anyone heard back from Brigham women's who had a phone pre interview?
Vanderbilt is doing in-person interviewsDoes anyone know if all interviews are virtual this year as well?
I have notHas anyone heard back from Brigham women's who had a phone pre interview?
Hopefully someone else will comment, but I don’t think they have separate peds/IM tracks. So even though only a peds invite has been reported so far, I would imagine they also sent out to IM.Anyone heard from UNC (IM)?
I guess as many as possible. Currently at 3 interviews, but would feel more confident if I had 8-10 total.Out of curiosity, how many interviews are people shooting for ?

Is it a record number of applications because of the ease and less costs in interviewing virtually (so applicants are applying everywhere)? or are there are more overall applicants? I would suspect the former I guess..This year looks like it is a record year for applications. I would agree — take every interview you get
The former isn’t new this application cycle though. Everything I’m seeing is estimating a 50% increase in applications this year, though we will need to see the final data to know for sure.Is it a record number of applications because of the ease and less costs in interviewing virtually (so applicants are applying everywhere)? or are there are more overall applicants? Wait where are you getting these stats from?? Ugh I have so much anxiety 😫 how is everyone else coping? Sending good vibesssssssThe former isn’t new this application cycle though. Just through word of mouth, so hopefully it isn’t true! But yes my anxiety is definitely high 😵💫Wait where are you getting these stats from?? Ugh I have so much anxiety 😫 how is everyone else coping? Sending good vibesssssss
Maybe the pool could have an option to update your number of interviews as you get them? Either way, thanks for making the pool, its good information to have.Average interviews about 2 weeks ago was 4, don't freak out too much. We can get a new pool going later
I think once they download the applications the programs don't look back anymore.I applied to a handful of programs. Do you think it's a good idea to apply to more programs at this point?
Did anyone get offered a secondary for UCSF?
I got just a regular interview (did not appear to be a "secondary")Did anyone get offered a secondary for UCSF?

I'm not holding my breath on anyone cancelling interviews, but some programs have been sending new batches of interviews according to the chartI'm wondering if anyone knows when applicants start cancelling interviews? There were a couple programs I was very interested in but I haven't gotten an invite or rejection (nor waitlisted) and wondering if there is any hope to get a last minute invite lol
I would send a letter of interest if you haven’t already! Can’t hurtI'm wondering if anyone knows when applicants start cancelling interviews? Yes I got my secondary in the same email as well. That’s why I was confused, wondering if maybe I was the only one 😅To clarify, my “secondary” came in the same email as the interview invite. Last year they sent secondaries to everyone before interview. I’m trying to wrap my head around why they would send it to some but not all applicants they interview this year…
There's a chart?? 👀I'm not holding my breath on anyone cancelling interviews, but some programs have been sending new batches of interviews according to the chart
already done! lolI would send a letter of interest if you haven’t already! Can’t hurt
The wall of text about interview invites*There's a chart?? 👀
Seems like 50-60Anyone know a rough estimate of how many interviews programs offer for a program that has 1-2 fellows a year?
if there are ~200 applicants in the pool, that would suggest they are interviewing nearly 1/4 of all applicants for 2 spots. That is also assuming that everyone is applying to every program...Seems like 50-60
Yes 50-60 may be high for 1 spot, but programs also have to play it safe because if they only rank 30-40 applicants and they match elsewhere, then they will go unfilled. Probably somewhere between 10-20 applicants per position is what I'd estimate.if there are ~200 applicants in the pool, that would suggest they are interviewing nearly 1/4 of all applicants for 2 spots. I think 50-60 for 2 spots is an overestimation, but I also can’t imagine them interviewing only 10 people for 1 spot so it must be somewhere in between. It will also be program dependent.
For what it's worth, most of the programs I was offered interviews at offered ~6 spots per interview day and between 4-6 interview dates. For example, Northwestern (IM) and Lurie Children (which both offer 2 spots per year) each offered 4 interview dates with 6 interview spots per interview date. The math works out to 24 interviews total or 12 interviews per spot. If they add more interview dates or spots per date down the line I’m not sure.Yes 50-60 may be high for 1 spot, but programs also have to play it safe because if they only rank 30-40 applicants and they match elsewhere, then they will go unfilled.
