In the continuing spirit of the tradition started last year, we will hold this as your official countdown til score release thread. You can use this as a countdown, but may also post in here general conversation if you are just going insane over this wait. Also, this may not be an exact of when the scores will come out, but we don't know how many days before the official 60 days are over they will come out. Last year, they came out around June 15th at 10pm. But this will give us a rough approximation.

Ok, let the fun begin.........

59 days and counting........

Lets pray for all of you and for my very best roommate, and two of my other bestest friends. 😀 May all come with good news in the following two months.

This is for the neurotic ones who just need somewhere to vent their frustration over the wait. 😛

I just talked to the guy in Iowa on the phone and he said that states starting with the letter L-Z will have their scores tommorrow provided they are a red state, and lie north of texas, but that states that are A-K will not recieve their scores until July 4th during a fireworks display being nationally televised in Washington, DC. Blue States lying north of texas in the L-Z had their scores destroyed on accident and will be recieving partial refunds. Overall I think this is a pretty optimistic outlook!!

I get my scores tomorrow! Yeah!!!!! 👍

I think this would have been a lot funnier if the AAMC posted something along the lines of "Scores for the April 2006 MCAT will be available on July 14th."

I think a lot of people here would have smashed their computer screen with a hammer.

Anyone else start swearing at the computer when you saw the update?

+pissed+ <-- what I wanted to do to my computer, but realized that would be rather counter-productive.

June 9th---we still have 3 to 11 days to go...I need some fiber lol...just kidding

So what do they all have to do jsut to inform me.

Throw out questions?
Grade the essays.
Scan the scantrons.

How do they decide which Q's to throw out.

I don't know how this works.

Hey guys, you're not going to believe what I heard! Some rumors that the MCAT website says that scores will be released on June 20th!!!

(In other words, you don't have to read the whole thread, just read one or two pages before you post 😉 )

I have heard people on this thread talking about having MCAT dreams before and I never really took it seriously until last night. I actually had my first vivid dream about receiving my scores. They came on an old dot matrix printer-produced page where the numbers were hard to read. After looking at them carefully, it showed that I got a 44!!! (15,15,14). I was soooooooo excited that I woke up yelling "woo hoo!!!", only to be crushed with reality. 🙁

What did you get in WS?

I didn't see the WS for some reason. I was so excited about the numbers that it woke me up. Bummer. Anyway, those scores are impossible for me anyway. I know that I had to rush through the last 20% or so of PS and my O.Chem was very weak on the BS section. Verbal score maybe possible though (14), unlikely, but possible. I finished it like 20 minutes early. I feel pretty good about my essays too.

I had the complete opposite (well, almost complete): I finished PS early and thought it was relatively easy, then Verbal was the hardest verbal test I ever had and I rushed through the second half of it. In B.S., orgo was VERY hard...
I had a similar dream, but even while dreaming I realised it wasn't true - I got 23 on PS 😀

I hear ya. I graduated undergrad back in '98. And it was like in '96/'97 that I took Organic. So even though I reviewed the material of course, I just couldn't get into it like when it was fresh, so it was very difficult for me. I didn't even like it when I was taking it. Biochem on the other hand I like a lot (even though I had to use some of what we learned on ochem). I rocked all the bio questions, so hope it makes up for it. PS I found easy until about half way through, when I realised how quickly the time was going (or really how slowly I was working).

And the wait continues...
I'm sure my roommate is getting tired of me complaining all the time that we don't have scores back yet. I feel that for HER well-being that the AAMC should get their butts in gear.
Not to mention, my first day of work is on Monday. Since I know (in all probabilitity) that scores will be online Monday or Tuesday, it's going to be a miserable day as I sit through paperwork and training thinking "if I could just get home to a computer with internet access." Grrrr 😡

I was in the same boat. ORGO did seem particularly difficult on my test version.

By the way, that raises a question in my mind. Clearly, with the different test versions that are administered on the same test day, people have experienced varying levels of difficulty for each of the sections. Do they scale your score based on the raw scores achieved on a particular test version, or do they simply use the raw scores on a particular test day?

I work with a computer (I'm a software developer), so I keep compulsively checking Thx and SDN... Imgaine what that does to my productivity (think Office Space 😀 )

ps: for all those who have their own ideas of when scores are coming:

june 12 is 3 days away
june 13 is 4 days away
june 14 is 5 days away
june 15 is 6 days away
june 16 is 7 days away
june 17 is 8 days away
june 18 is 9 days away
june 19 is 10 days away
and june 20, that's 11 days.

😀 :hardy:  :luck:

They weight the different tests differently (depending on how difficult each section was for each version) when they go to compute the total scaled scores.

Yeah, I just stare at my desk, but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch too, I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

Thats what i'm doing right now. I need to peel myself off of here and do some work.

Thanks for the info...this did have me thinking for a bit.

wow, i'm having those crazy flashbacks of test day all the sudden. I somehow subconciously blacked out the MCAT experience from my memory, but now I am getting these flashbacks to the test day as the score day approaches, the first time I can actually remember the test. Does anyone else have this too? Any psychology majors know what this is called?

How many people are going to share their scores here no matter what they get?

There is a giant blue box on the MCAT webpage that score will be outTuesday, June 20th

Yeah, but the consensus around here, after several people have placed phone calls to AAMC, is that people can expect to receive their scores in the mail by June 20, and the online release date with be the 12th/13th.

Yes, we are setting ourselves up for another collective letdown when the scores do not show up on the 12th or 13th...and then we have yet another week to wait!

And yes, I did just reply to my own post ...

Thats exactly my feeling. I'm not sure if the phone representatives have the up to date info as compared with the people managing the website. Makes me skeptical about 12/13. I put in an email explaining the need for clarification, as i'm sure many others have, and will post the response when it arrives.

Thanks for emailing them dude... I'm crossing my fingers for good news.

"The email forwarded is incorrect I fear. The scores will be released
into the online system on June 20th. The MCAT scores for April 2006 will
not be available in any format until Tuesday, June 20th. I hope this
helps.

Program Assistant - MCAT"

It won't be online till the 20th, now official. This was sent by our Med School advisor person after I asked her.

Email that I sent yesterday:

I was hoping to get some clarification on the recent MCAT website
announcement. Does the availability date of June 20th refer to the online
posting of scores for our review, or the snail mail release/receipt of
the scores? I understand that your announcement is probably considered
straightforward and unambiguous, but for a number of us that are very
anxious about the release, we really could use some clarification. Some
phone representatives from MCAT have (and reportedly still are in some
cases) given June 12/13 as the expected online release date. I
appreciate your patience and help. I know that you must be getting many
messages/calls.

Many Thanks,
xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Response:

I notice a strange similarity between your real name and the request number assigned to you by the AAMC...maybe this is trying to tell you something? :meanie:

Nice! I think I need to get away from this forum for a bit...I'm getting a little punchy!

Which e-mail address did you send it to? I sent an e-mail as well but have not received a response yet. Have the scores ever come out exactly 60 days after the exam? It seems a little late to me 🙁
