I'm ecstatic with this score...although it's a little unbalanced. (I was sick the week of the test and barely got through the whole exam....didn't finish 2 passages in VR. 😳 )

congrat to everyone. It takes a lot just to survive this test!

Up from a 29Q in Aug 2003 (12 VR, 7 PS, 10 BS). So in case it wasn't clear from the last test, I'm good at VR! 🙄 Overall I'm happy, but I wish my scores were more balanced, obviously. Hopefully these will be good enough to get me in this year! Good luck to all of you! :luck:

Again single digit verbal 😡 , but I only realized the best way to tackle the useless section after the exam. I am still regretting spending time reading scientific journals instead of analyzing verbal. 🙁 retaking next April. Good luck to everybody 😀

Hey how bad was your verbal, because with that score I'm sure you can get in somewhere depending on your gpa and extracurriculars.

Its a pretty decent score.

Writing Sample 😛

A two point increase....I guess that makes studying all summer instead of doing nothing worth it...right???

You see your VR score amazes me. how do u do it?

So I finally looked after waiting for 3 hours...

Physcial Sciences: 8
Verbal: 10
Biological Sciences: 9
Writing: Q

27 Q

I was hoping for better - was averaging 30 - 33 on practice tests. Such is life.

I knew that my Verbal would stay the same. Whether it was the EK tests, or other practice ish, I'd always get 9's. I studied pretty hard this summer and took tons of practice tests. I was hoping to get between a 31-33 but I'm happy with the four point increase. I'm sorta pissed about the writing sample because I've always rocked all standardized writing tests albeit the SAT II, GRE or MCAT. The topics were blowing goats this year though, in my opinion... CONGRATS to everyone who did as well as they hoped and best of luck to you all! 👍

I was hoping for a 40, so a tad disappointed, but still happy. I want to apply to some of the super-competitive MSTP programs (Harvard, Wash U, Hopkins, Duke, etc.)...Is this enough?

Overall 34Q.

Im definitely happy about my score now that I know I will at least get into 1 school. The verbal is weak but whatever. I love life.

Total 30Q. I'm kind of dissapointed being that my last practice test was a 34 :/ I'm debating on whether or not its worth the hassle to take it again in April.

don't do it! 🙂 I know bgreet that you took it early as did I and it might be tempting but I have med student friends I've talked to today and no one advises to retake with a 30. It's a hard score to get! But at the end of the day it IS up to you.

So for me,

30R (8 PS, 10 VR, 12 BS)

The physical pretty much makes me sick, but the bio makes me so happy. I really didn't know if I was laughing or crying as I was telling my bf the score; I too got 30-31 on the aamcs and was hoping for a tad bit higher.

I guess if you're going to get an 8 might as well be in PS.

Dude.. are you serious? Come on now. You know that that is good enough. (It better be cause a lot of people did a lot worse)

YAY! So I DO have a chance of doing much better. I got a 20O with very little studying. So, I knew it was going to be low, and I know I could have done much better. And because I have heard its good from many many people, Princeton Review here I come. 😀

Dr. Guy,

I wanted to say that I think you made the right choice in taking the MCAT despite the fact that you already are accepted to med school. That is just AWESOME how wonderful you all did.

well, that's all for now, but I hope to have some good news in April.

Considering my highest practice score was a 34 (with Kaplan), I'm definitely satisfied. I'm not surprised, per se, although my girlfriend said she hadn't expected me to do so well, but I'm ecstatic that I can just put this behind me. Since I'm only beginning my junior year now, I can actually relax a bit in regards to the application process.

He probably is secretly disappointed with verbal.

I will admit I'm a little disappointed with the VR. I think my possible scores in VR were 11-13 (40% 11, 40% 12, 20% 13). I had to guess on the last 2 and that probably ended up being the deciding factor. But I think I scored towards the top of my abilities on the sciences (probably 10-15% shot at a 15 on either section), so it evened out in the end. Yeah, I think about this stuff way too much. And I honestly thought my BS score was going to be 12, so that more than made up for the minor disappointment on VR.

First off, congrats to all you SDNers who have taken the MCAT. Merely completing the test is a feet in and of itself.

However, TiggidyTooth WOW, that is an impressive jump. You have proven the test can be studied for, and I'm wondering if you can do me a huge favor and outline how you went about preparing for the MCAT the second time around?? Princeton Review, eh? I'm taking the test in April, and any advice/pointers would be appreciated, thanks, and great job!! 👍

Well, others may have been sad with mys core, but I was / am certainly happy!
This was my second time taking the test...:

Aug. 2003 - As a freshman:
VR:07
PS:08
BS: 07
WS: R
= 22R

Aug. 2004 - as a sophmore:
VR: 09
PS: 09
BS: 09
WS: Q

Since I have a very strong GPA, a 27Q is perfectly fine. My last 3 AAMC's were 30,29,30.... but I took them in the afternoon....and I have trouble getting up early. So yeah, I don't plan on retaking at all! Unlike some who have posted and have stated that they are sad w/ the "measly" 38 they got, I am content with a 27🙂 And correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it best to get the same scores across the board?

Oh and congrats to Nakhrewali on hitting 30!

PS 13 VR 11 BS 13 37P

I am content with the score since it's right in the middle of my practice test range. But I really would have liked a little higher verbal. I prepared the hardest on that section but still ended up with the score I was getting at the beginning.

Wow, congrats to all who achieved what they wanted (or did really well even if they didn't reach their ridiculous expectations). I hope I can do as well in April.
