My alma mater is missing 97% of its appropriations from the state... woohoo.

Dear University of Illinois,

Enjoy the royal screwing.

Love,

Former Governor Rod

I hear el presidente (both former and current) spent the money to build a highway in Afghanistan...gotta love those jokers in DC.

my med school was going to increase the class by 20. now they are DECRESING the class by 20. woof.

sorry i'm typing on my wii lol

Thank God my tuition is only going up 4% next year.

In other news, the opening of the 2 new UC med schools have been pushed back to 2169, which is the first year the deficit is projected to close.

Seriously though, the UCs (in addition to jacking tuition), pushed back opening new schools and cut class sizes at Davis med school (and possibly others). At least we have good weather . . .

chman, are you a UW alum?

I go to a local community college, but will be transferring there in the fall.

I have almost reconsidered going there though, for these reasons;

-The president of UW is one of the highest payed, and I believe he may have even given himself a raise recently. Regardless, it just doesn't seem right to be taking home hundreds of thousands while your students suffer (My sister is currently a student there by the way).

-I guess in the midst of all this, they decided to renovate The Hub. This is just plain wrong. Yes, it's a bit old (I used to work there), but they are raising tuition because of this "crisis," yet don't seem to mind throwing a few mill towards that.

That being said, almost everyone in my family is a graduate of UW, and I have wanted to go there since I was a kid growing up int the U-District.

Cheers

My school lost major funding and is about to fall from the progress it worked so hard to obtain. 👎

I noticed it when I was making my schedule this semester, there were a lot fewer sections of classes and stuff. Good thing I'm graduating this semester and won't have to worry about it in the future.

This is the biggest problem for me. Even with my "seniority" at my cc I can barely get into the classes I want, if at all. For example, next quarter I will have two classes back to back, then I will need to wait three hours for chem and chem lab. Not big deal if you live close, but I don't.
