This is important to remember. It's a date to look forward to but not THE day of reckoning for everyone. Good luck to everyone.. This thread stresses me out.

Hi everybody. Just rejoining the countdown thread after a weekend hiatus. I wish I'd paid more attention to the notification procedures when I interviewed as well. I was so focused on the interview itself when I was at schools that I was not at all thinking ahead. Oh well... Just adds to the suspense now.

Does anyone know if schools give out notifications sooner than what they say? Like if a school says 6-8 weeks, might you get notified after 4 or 5 weeks since 6-8 is just a more conservative average? (Ah, the power of wishful thinking... :laugh: )
 
It's down to less than a week now. I was looking how they were notified last year, and it looks like if you were accepted, you got an email, otherwise you get a snail mail letter with either rejection or waitlist. BTW, this is at Tufts I'm speaking of. So I really hope i get an email.
 
This is seriously driving me nuts. Plus, GWU (what I'm waiting for) said it would be 6-8 wks, not 10/15. (puts it closer to end of Oct/begining of Nov for me)

Anyone heard anything other than the 6-8 wk estimate from GWU???

I don't understand how it can take that long, I mean they only started interviewing on 9/7 (that I've heard of here or on MDapps) so IF they interview everyday then I was potentially the 4th interview day. BY 10/15 it will be 2 weeks since they were done with EDP - shouldn't their adcomms be able to get through AT LEAST 4 interview days in 2 weeks?

Same here....neither school I interviewed with said anything specific about letting us know, so it's the mere anticipation that I "could" hear something as of next week that's driving me crazy, I don't even know how all of you who actually know your school will be getting back to you next week are dealing. :scared:

Searching through old threads, it seems that UMass tends to take its sweet time letting people know.... 👎
 
Well, still another day without receiving the mysterious Pitt. correspondence. I know they have sent it per my status page, just don't know what the darn thing says! lol
 
I can tell you right now that the "correspondence" is a rejection.

I'm 99.9999999999934566% positve.

The only reason I'm not 100% positive is becuase maybe your the individual they would, for some anomolous reason, send something totally different than anyone else.

Sorry.
 
I want to add myself to the Wall Shame for Pitt, because I don't think it's been started.............in fact, i'm doing it
 
I am really, really bored and tired... but too bored to sleep. And these bloody reject dreams are making my life feel like a freddy krueger film. 🙄 Apparently, Pitt's giving out bad news via reject-o-grams this year. There ain't nothing worse than having a rejection letter sung to upbeat music.

My little brother just got his college acceptance letter in a cardboard tube that makes cheering/applause noises when you open it. We were actually just discussing what noises the "rejection tubes" might make. Contemptuous laughter, perhaps?

Yeh, I have always thought that it would be a rejection. But since I havn't heard of anyone else receiving such a correspondence yet, there is always that small chance that it is a hold or something. 😀
 
Does anyone know how GW will contact us? Or when?

I don't know about that college but I received an acceptance to Loyola Chicago for undergrad. It came in a box with a fortune cookie which said "Your future is bright at Loyola..." Man, I wish I could get another cookie from Loyola Stritch...

Just so you know, they are not all received at precisely the same time. That could be due to UMich's email system or perhaps just due to the nature of email. Nevertheless, give UMich an hour or so from the time that they start giving out acceptances on Sunday morning at 12:00am or so until the time that the last one gets sent out for the day.

By mail 6-8wks after the interview.

I called yesterday and the secretary said even if you had a really early interview it still usually takes 6 wks, sometimes more.

I second that, except when I talked to the person, they said it's looking more like 8 wks 👎 , even for those that interviewed in the first week. Ugh.

Really?! The woman I spoke to told me 6 for early people. 🙁 I'm going to go ahead and hope that yours didn't know wtf she was talking about 🙁
 
I've heard that no official decisions have been made for reg. decision.
 
I'm hoping it's good for us, alwaysaangel. GW's my first choice (I'm guessing it's up there for you too.)

So. . . is the 15th the first day most schools will SEND notices, or the first day they will meet to decide? I am terribly confused and suspect I will become somewhat nauseous as the 16th/17th approaches. Best of luck to you all!
 
I got rejected from Mayo on Tuesday after a phone interview a week ago. So swift and so vicious! This makes me think I'm going to get rejected or at best bottom-of-the-pile waitlisted at Buffalo.

Oh, the humanity!

I'll be up, but not on SDN. Some friends of mine who are also waiting on Umich decisions are having a party at our house. We figure some of us will be celebrating and others will by crying. Either way, alcohol will be involved 👍.

Sounds good, and judging by your profile I'd put my money on you having a good night. I loved UMich so hopefully it goes well for both of us :luck:
 
This is going to be an intense week... my friends are getting mcat scores soon, and then I'm going to be checking my mail constantly starting Monday...

Hopefully, many celebrations will ensue!

Yeah...I'm gonna sit at my computer in case they don't end up sending text messages!!!!! (would be pretty sweet to be sitting at a bar and learning about an acceptance through text message though!)...man I can't believe its almost here! :scared: :scared: :scared:
