University of Minnesota! I'm so excited. This is definitely one of my top choices. I'm offered 1/16. Does anyone know what's the chance of acceptance of post-dec interviews for Minnesota?

I got an interview from UCSF today. I was definitely not expecting to hear back from them, so I was pleasantly surprised seeing that email! The interview is on 1/14/13, and my stats are below. 👍 AND..... NO I am not a URM.

I got an interview at nyu for 11/19. Just interviewed this week. They said most people will be hearing from them dec. 3. Stats are low but I have some pretty strong ECs and 3.5 yrs of genetics research.

There is still hope!!!!!!!

Congrats on the UW interview Stevie! You must have great stats if you just submitted your secondary and got an interview 3 days later. When is your interview date set for?

Thanks a lot I appreciate the kind words, I feel like EC's, personal statement, work experience, etc. really play a big role when your gpa/dat is at/below average like my scores. So make sure that you really blow those out of the water!

Lol. That is funny. I guess we all belong in one of the three. URM, ORM, or a NM. ORM is kind of an oxymoron though. Its like, the larger smalles thing. Funny how these things are involved in this supposed fair application.

Im not really sure I know what ORM is, but I am not a URM, I am white/Caucasian. I actually am arab but we are still considered white caucasian so that is the box I have to check.

Over-represented minority? It is definitely possible to be one, and I think Asians like myself fall under this category haha. We're still a minority but we're over-represented in certain fields like medicine or dentistry.

Did NYU say that notifications are sent via Email on December 3rd? I thought they were getting mailed out on December 3rd.

Georgia health sciences univ. today via email... Message said they didn't even get to review all the apps.
 
Feel your pain. Mostly my fault because my last professor really held me up on his LOR, but at the same time I didn't try to get it from him until September.

Oh well, better luck next year. My letters are so late(still haven't been in), that I really feel like I just wasted the money this cycle. I'll have to find something productive to do for a gap year.

Edit: Should I call them and apologize or anything for not finishing my application? Or just apply on June 1 next cycle?
