anyone got a rejection email from case?
They said that they very rarely reject people, they put your application on "hold" which basically means that it is a soft rejection and they don't think the applicant is a good "fit" for their school. They said that they have only accepted one applicant off the hold list and that was like 20 years ago.

wtf...what's so evil about rejecting applicants? I'd way rather know than not know my status.

Wow they took forever! When did you receive the application complete email?

No news is good news, right?
One rejection (UCSF) out of 10 applications. Now I'm realizing that applying to a Cali school as an OOS applicant was a horrible idea.
I received the competitive application e-mail from OHSU a couple of weeks ago, still waiting for an interview e-mail.
Other schools I've applied to and heard nothing from: University of Washington, University of Colorado, Marquette, UMich, Ohio State, Case, UKentucky, Temple.

Residency: Oregon
Application complete date: 6/10
AADSAS mail-out date: 7/19 (my committee took their time sending out evaluations)
GPA (science, overall): sGPA: 3.56, oGPA: 3.6 (with a Nursing school grading scale, 75% = F)
DAT (AA/TS/PAT/Reading/any section below a 17): 19/19/22/23/none

6 years experience of ER nursing, 150+ hours of dental shadowing in multiple fields.
I know my DAT isn't amazing, but it's definitely not horrible for not taking some of these classes for a decade. Maybe I've been out of school for too long?

Was the secondary application from Maryland just the application fee?? I still haven't heard anything from them, but I submitted my application in the middle of August.

anyone got a rejection email from case?
Yup, I got the email this morning. It states my application is no longer going to be considered.
My first rejection 🙁. I haven't heard back from any other schools yet though.

Did you interview there?

rejected from case as well 🙁

U realize dental schools consider gpa also right??
Yea, but judging from what I've seen on the threads, it seems like they throw a little more weight into the DAT and can be forgiving of a slightly lower GPA. I rarely see it the other way around.

Rejected from Case as well. Kind of expected it when they updated my AADSAS portal saying to refer back after Dec. 2.

I didn't mean to be rude but there's nothing you can do but wait. I'm sure you'll receive some post December invites. I think most schools are done with pre December interviews

Ohio State has already done all the interviews it is going to do, so you (as well as I) are rejected. UMich interviews OOS applicants early and does them first, so you are probably rejected from there as well. Case is done with pre-dec interviews. I think for the others you will have to wait until after Dec. Washington takes like zero OOS applications, unless you have super high stats.
