How about a beauty contest?

Here is mine, resized for "privacy," and so you can't see comments such as "5 essays up the ass" for certain tough schools.

Yeah and it's impossible to find the buttons in Office 07 with these new default "picture" menus. It took me a long time to find that tiny word count button.

I made the spreadsheet on word. Way less fancy, but I write dates in using pretty, colorful pens.

Ok, so I'm 13.
 
I made my spreadsheet with whatever old version of excel came with my mac 3 years ago. I quite like it... It may not be color coded but has all the relevant information 🙂
 
i keep it in my head.. and use mdapps to help if i need it. no excel spreadsheet here.. but i like '07

Haha I'm totally doing the same thing!! 😀 I love color!! 😛

My computer is now 5 years old, and excel stopped working about a year ago, so now I use word for everything.
 
i started a spread sheet but i only got as far as copying and pasting all the places i am applying to...wayyyy to lazy

Mmhm! top = schools I love the most, bottom = "why the HELL did I apply here? Oh well, might as well follow-through..."

And the colors for the statuses are based on the level of action necessary on my part 😀

I can't screenshot my whole sheet, at 45 schools it is more than one screen. It is just vanilla black and white anyway.
 
jajajajaj, i thought i was Crazy and was a freak of nature for doing this. I am happy SDN exist, makes me feel more normal😀. Mine is simple only has the name of the school, address, tuition, when i received sec, when i sent it, when file is complete, when i might get an interview
 
Hold on, hold on. Don't be mistaken. You are more certainly crazy and a freak of nature for this. It's just that SDN seems to be a meeting ground for the clinically neurotic. 😛

The best part of SDN is after hours of reading threads and posting replies, realizing that your computer was never turned on.

Oh, mine has all kinds of info about the schools.... their average MCAT/GPAs from both the MSAR and US News, their secondary fees, their % of student's from OOS, their tuition, their projected cost of living...

Alphabetical order and color-coded based on current status. As you can see, rejections are BRIGHT red. 🙁 The light green you see is for "complete" - "accepted" will be BRIGHT green! :luck:

It's kinda small and there's not much on it. I just added the green gradient today after seeing Chad's.
 
You guys are hard-****ing-core. My spreadsheet has no colors at all.
 
Well...I had a sneaking suspicion that if I had a speckled and colored spreadsheet, there'd be others with way more insanely vivid looking ones. I guess I was right.

I don't really even do it for organizational purposes though. It gives me a psychological boost every time I get to change one of those babies from orange or red to green. 😀

Haha I like how you have an abbreviated legend across the top and an expanded legend column towards the bottom for further clarification. Neuroticism at its best heh 👍

I did mine last year with red for rejections as well!

But I also color coded my schools in a priority order for completing secondaries. Nerd-dom, I have arrived. I would post mine, but it's got no less than 6 worksheets to keep track of money, submission dates, LORs required, login IDs, interviews, MD versus DO, etc.

It's all very dorky, yes, but if you aren't organized in this process you will inevitably drop the ball on something important.
 
I have all of my info on a dry erase board... not a spreadsheet fan.
 
hmm... maybe i should start a spreadsheet too...but MDapps is as good as one, no?

This is just too nerdy. Go for a walk or something.

I started a spreadsheet and then I realized I could spend a fraction of the time and just do a checklist by hand. Crazy I know. Get a rejection? Slash through it. Interview offer? I write down the interview and date. I know I know...not very tech savy, but I have a degree in Information Science Technology, so I figure I need to escape computers sometimes.

Neither does mine. I just use the yellow highlighter one the secondary that I'm currently working on. 😱

Quite a few people with OCD on SDN. 🙂 I feel at home...

A dry erase board documenting this process would be a constant reminder for me. I couldn't relax with it in my home. :scared:
