I'm a little biased after living in Argentina, but I much prefer South American soccer players, especially good argentines like messi, kun, tevez, etc.

Although I haven't watch a lot of movies recently, my school has given everyone who lives on campus free access to HBOgo online. I have wasted a LOT of time watching shows haha.

I can't get into GoT's TV version because it's just SO SLLLLLOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW. By the time I watch half a season, I could have finished the freaking series. I'm just too impatient.
I read the first few books but couldn't stand the oversexualization of the story line on the show. It was really distracting, but obvious Tyrion is so perfect.

Completely unrelated to anything ever (woo social thread!!)...what is with everyone freaking out about targeted advertising? The typical argument I see against, say, Google Glass (or whatever social media/tech thing is new this week) is "OMG they will collect your data without telling you and then TARGETED ADVERTISING!! Betcha didn't see that coming! You forgot Google is trying to make money!!"
And I'm like...no, I didn't forget that they're a company, I just don't care. Targeted advertising is ignorable at best, and at worst, I get more ads about things I want instead of useless annoying crap. It's not like they're forcing me to buy it or anything. 🙄 Seriously, I'd welcome a little targeted advertising if it would get Facebook to relent with its obsession with my uterus (I'm not joking, I routinely have ads for 3 different egg donation services, as well as "are you infertile? are you sure?" and the occasional "What will your baby look like?!?")
Why do I care if there's a file somewhere in some database with info on all of my preferences and habits? I AM NOT SPECIAL, no one cares enough to dig through all of that boring crap to memorize every detail of my personality, and if they did, I guess...good for them? What relevance does that have to my life? So yeah, even if it were labelled with my name and SSN (which it's theoretically not), I fail to see why I should care.

In the future, Google will be looking through our glasses, driving our cars, hosting our files, running our email...and I am perfectly happy with that because they generally do a good job of it when they do something.
Except Google Music. That was terrible. Prompted a wave of cloud-music systems, so props to them, but their actual implementation was 🙁 For example, the 'shuffle' function on there didn't play through your songs in random order, it simply picked a random song to play next EACH TIME, which is a whole different story and NOT what you want from a music player. I mean, come on, that's what...1, maybe 2 lines of code there? Not asking for anything special, just a normal shuffle function!

I am pretty sure that is targeted advertising. I definitely don't see any of that on my facebook. The targeting methods are going to get weirder as time goes on. When there is enough data available, companies can see things like pregnancy track with other unrelated variables. Maybe you somehow use the internet like someone that wants kids soon?

No, I don't google baby products or children or anything. I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm of prime reproductive age, did sports, and I was going to a really good college (aka seem like a good candidate on paper for primo-quality eggs)...and I didn't have much else for them to go on. I've noticed that since I started looking up premed stuff, I get a lot more medicine-related ads than before, and only ~1 baby-making ad!

People often tell Google things they don't even tell their physicians and this information is stored for up to 18 months for advertising and marketing purposes. If one's search history were to be revealed, it could be bad.
