TRANSCRIPT REQUIREMENT:

For my fellow sophomores, there's no need to wait for your fall grades.

"Fall grades are not required. The transcript that is available at the time you apply can be used to consider you for the program. Decide if you want the transcript on file used or if you would prefer to have your upcoming transcript used."

Has anyone gotten their transcripts and LOR processed and posted in their dashboard.
 
I'm a first time applicant for this program and I'm having trouble filling out the extracurricular form. Can I dm someone that's willing to help??

I am not sure about how to date something I did, I volunteered for a few years, then took a few years off, then continued again... do I put the entire time as one continuous activity? Or two separate?

If the template lets you specify, I would specify. I would feel like I'm lying if I made it continuous, especially if a year break was there, but you know your history best so it's your call! I do think detail is important though, if you can manage to do that in the format the application is in.

You can try and put it as continuous and then explain in your description that you took a break

I will be applying during my winter break, but this is my last semester as a Sophomore. If I apply before my first Junior semester, do you think that I will still qualify for the program?

It's my understanding that you just have to be a sophomore at the time of application. I also read in an old post that they take into account the courses you have taken in determining admission as well. Since you will be taking two courses as apart of the program, if you already have completed all the classes they offer you may not get accepted.

How many credits do you have right now? It's written on their website under eligibility that SHPEP considers freshmen and sophomores as "students with a maximum of 60 earned college credits at the time of their application submission."
I think you're fine, but if you're worried just shoot an email of an unofficial transcript and ask. It'd be a waste if you applied and was never eligible.

Okay, thanks. I currently have a little less than 60, but after this semester I will have 60+. I will email them.

Where is everyone so far with their applications? Let's try and get posts with stats, progress on applications, program you're applying to (medical, dental, nursing, public health etc.), and intended sites you're applying to / the sites you've applied to! I'm sure a lot of us are applying to the same sites!
 
So I'm a little frustrated!! My prof who is doing my LOR told me that they'd get my LOR in before winter break (That was Wednesday) I haven't heard anything. I'm assuming she went to break early... I'm bummed, now my application won't be complete until 10 days after she sends it sometime during the 1st week in January... Is that late? I was really hoping for a early decision because I have a ton of things to coordinate if I end up going out of state...

The early admission deadline is Feb 1 and results will come out on Feb 15. It may be late in terms of how early you wanted to apply, but it's not late in terms of the deadline. You should reach out to the professor yourself though & check on the status of the recommendation. Also, I'm not sure if it will affect your chances in a very competitive site since applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, but if you make your application as strong as you can, that's all you can really do!

Hi y'all! I was wondering how you submit the transcript PDF with your transcript? Also, does the person who writes the LOC type it on the form provided online then then print it out and mail it in?

What I did was print the transcript matching form and put my sealed transcript and the form in an envelope. And for the LOR I'm not sure how my prof is doing it.

Thank you!! How long is everyones essays that have gotten in like in previous years?
 
So I mailed everything on Dec 5th and nothing has been processed so I'm scared that they haven't gotten it or its lost. What should I do?

I sent in my transcript December 5th too! It hasn't been updated either so I sent them an email today asking if I should resend the transcript.. I'll keep you posted.

Great! Thank you! It would suck if i had to send them again cause I would have to pay $20 for both of my transcripts.

Soooo support didn't really help 🙂 they just quoted the website and said "please keep in mind it takes 10 days..." I think I'm going to send it again

I wouldnt worry..I finished submitting my application Nov. 12th and it did not post for two weeks, and my LOR was submitted on Nov. 17th and not posted for two weeks also. I would assume the volume of applications has increased by now and that it might take even longer. I also called the SHPEP contact number after about 10 days and they confirmed that it was received, but it just takes a little to post to the dashboard.
 
I emailed yesterday and they confirmed that they had received my transcripts but it takes 10 days to update. Which I don't understand why because in the website it says "However, the processing time is different if the application is submitted afterthe materials have been received. In this instance, it can take up to two business days to process materials and update the status in the application dashboard." And that's exactly what I did.
 
I'm in review for all three locations!

Yeah, my transcripts were uploaded yesterday morning and they started reviewing my application in the afternoon. You just have to keep bugging them to upload it. I did that cause if not they were going to update it until January

I'm grateful the SMDEP program was broadened to include future PHARMD students this year.

My pre med, sorry. It's cool that they expanded! Where are you applying?

I agree with you, nobody really post here with the exception of me lmao
 
There are several forms about past SMDEP's. A lot of former participants replied to those and they're nice to read through to see what we're getting into! They get pretty repetitive after a while. Basically everyone says its a GREAT program and a great chance to make friends that are heading towards the same path!

I'm slacking on finishing up my essays during break. But I'm also waiting on my LOR so I'm not stressing. I'll have my Essays by the end of the week, I have to go pick up my transcripts sometime this week also. So it's coming together.

My was completed on Friday with LOR and Transcripts.

I'm applying to UW, Houston, Columbia. Hopefully I get into one

Good job! Do you know how long it took SHPEP to receive/update your application when the lor came in?
My boss is writing mine and I know he'll wait till the last minute unless I pester the crap out of him.

Well I submitted my LOR an transcript Dec 5th. Submitted my app on Dec. 20 and was completed on Dec. 23

There are only 3 pharmacy related SHPEP sites: Louisville, Florida, and Iowa. So choices are pretty limited.
 
Just checked and application is updated-shows "transcript received and verified"
 
So I'm a sophomore and I transferred schools for the fall semester. I transferred all my credits from my previous school so do I only send the transcript from the school I'm at now? or the school I was at freshman year as well?

Also I need an opinion it says for sophomores we dont have to wait for our fall grades and i had a higher gpa last year at the school I was at the only downside is I only had taken 2 of my science courses for dental school. Would it look better to send my fall grades where I took another science class with not the best gpa or to send my freshman year transcript where i only took chem 1 and bio 1?
