For those who have sent the deposit, do you know if it can be a personal check or does it have to be a money order/cashier's check? Is the deposit refundable if you decide to withdraw before May 15?

Yes, it came in a big packet.

Hey Dakota, I must have interviewed the same day as you. Congrats on your acceptance! I also just found out a week or so ago that I got in (they do have a pretty sweet acceptance letter huh), and I'm still waiting on other schools but I'd say there's a solid chance I'll be there next fall. Any chance you'll go?

I'm not sure, I def liked it when I visited, but it is quite expensive . . . I'm going to need to revisit a few places once I know what my options are. Right now it's between UConn and 'SC . . . so for football alone maybe the choice should be obvious . . .

i interviewed on 10/3 and got put on the waitlist in the last week of november, which they say is unranked (although i tend not to buy that). anyone know anything about waitlist movement? also, my student interviewer asked me in all seriousness why i wasn't considering princeton medical school -- awkward.

I heard one of the attendings there is really arrogant and has a lousy bedside manner. Also, their hospital has virtually nonexistent ancillary staff, so even the fellows end up doing tons of scut.

interviewed on 11/2, still no word, dont think we should assume that is bad, i know the thanksgiving holiday can screw up when adcoms meet and the timing of invitations, etc., keep your hopes up, i am !!!! (if you are a cali resident and interviewed you have a ~70% chance to get that acceptance.)

Wow, 70%!! So the answer is yes, I am a CA resident. I'm not sure where you get those numbers but if true they can defintely take their time. I felt pretty good about my interviews, but a lot of times you never can tell. I was just hoping a decision would be made relatively soon.

I interviewed on November 4th and received my acceptance packet yesterday (Dec 16th). Very happy about this, I thought I had great interview at USC. I've felt this way at other schools too, but have been put on the waitlist at those schools.

That's a really good question. I've been wondering the same thing. I seem to remember reading a comment about a second look weekend, but i'm not sure. I'll do a little research and see if i can find something.

When I was at my interview one of the med students said she thought they did a second look when she was applying, but it was at the very end of April and she had exams so therefore couldn't go. I would imagine having done them in the past they will continue to do so, but it would be nice to have a bit of solid info.

I don't have any hard facts, but my guess would be probably not.

As far as I know they only interview through April, but when I got an invite in August, the earliest I could schedule an interview was Oct 21. Assuming a comparable lead time (2.5 months) they would be sending out the last of their invites now. If, however, that lead time has grown then they'd be done.

Ya, you guys will get a second look in April. They'll send an invite out sometime in march via email so keep yours eye open. Last year they took us on a tour of county and the facilities (everything but the gross lab). Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back.

hey....the acceptance letter from USC would have your name on it, and it is 2 pages long. the letter regarding scholarships/new student reception (which i received today) is less than half of a page and is generic to "Future Medical Student."

studentstudent, I think you are my twin! I interviewed late november, was waitlisted about 5 weeks ago (despite what I thought was a fabulous interview) and today received the same package! My name is handwritten on the outside of the package but my name is not on any of the papers inside. I tried calling but no one answered and now it's the 3 day weekend. What should I think!?

I have not received any correspondence from Keck since I got accepted. I did email them to make sure they received my check on time, and they said not to worry about the 2 week period of time to secure my spot (this was right around Christmas time).

argonana: I am really paranoid about this stuff too. 👍 Go through the whole pre-med process and mess up something in the end and accidently withdrawing...not happening!

I got into Keck the day before Christmas, and I sent my check a week later. They still haven't deposited mine, either.

I haven't heard a peep from them since...you guys got another packet from them?? I feel so left out! I wanna know about scholarship opps!

I was looking through my packet...and I guess this is last years but it said that the due date for the Supplemental Financial Aid Form was Feb.25th for priority consideration.

Does anyone have information about THIS years supplemental financial aid forms?

I'm in the same boat with many of you, acceptance back in October, but not a peep since. I assume the fin aid dealine would be this Friday, Feb 24th, based on the info they gave during the interview (last years packet with a date of Feb 25th). Looking on the general USC webpage, I found a link to the same form that Elastase posted, that's what I'm going to mail them.
