OK State c/o 2017 applicants

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anna said all I have to do is send her proof of enrollment for the Spring and she would put me back in the mix. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Oh boy!! I'm so happy! I need another SDN fellow OK c/o 2017 hopeful to get through the rest of this process!:luck:

OH good crazy qtrs! That would be so silly to be disqualified over a technicality.

Does anyone know when OOS typically hear from Oklahoma regarding acceptances/rejections?

Thank you!!! Just keep waiting, waiting, waiting... (Insert Finding Nemo "Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming" voice 😀 )

I noticed some OOS have been notified as far as rejections (official rejections forum) but I have yet to hear anything. The last email I received was approximately a week ago asking me to show proof of enrollment for spring 2013 so that they could see what classes I was taking. I wonder when the rest of us will hear!

If you don't get the dreaded rejection letter right away, I would say final decisions will be early to mid-March. But I dunno for sure.

Thanks! Btw...I love what it says next to your location "stillH20" it made me laugh!

Yeah, I think those are for people that didn't meet requirements but I'm not totally for sure on that.

I believe that's correct. In my letter it said I didn't meet certain requirements and at the bottom there were a few check boxes for specific things. So I'd think that if you didn't get one of those letters, you at least meet the requirements. Good luck everyone 🙂

I will get out of class at either 11 or 12 and come sit in the lounge for a bit, if they don't mind. There should be a firstie there to chat with y'all for part of the day anyway - one of the ambassadors, I bet.

I'm on the 12 tour then interview 1-1:30. I'll be in grey slacks with purple turtleneck, assuming these fit better when I try them on again tomorrow... shoulder length brown hair and glasses.

horsesRlife, are you ready for tomorrow? I am excited to meet new people and see the campus.
Yep! I'm extremely nervous, but excited, too! My interview is at 10:30 tomorrow and I'll be at the noon tour.

Haha! We're you in the lounge? I was pretty sure it was you so I my corny wave 😀

Yeah that was me.

I'm on my way back home and on my phone so there'll be typos, but interview went well. Had Dr. Holyoak and I really liked him. He said I did really well on the way out, so I hope everyone felt that way!

I'm not his biggest fan but I'm glad it went well. Did they tell you when you would hear back?

I think I was in your tour group Lupin. I had the greyish olive skirt suit, red shirt, and had a horse pin. I would have said hi, but I had a work meeting I had to get to.

My interview went really well. I had a great group of interviewers. Dr. Snider started out saying he wanted the interview to be laid back and said he lived a couple miles away from me. Slightly creeped me out, but I felt like I connected with all my people. Altogether I felt pretty good about most my answers; however, I can't help but think about the questions I stumbled across.

He would  I swear he doesn't always think about the way things sound coming out of his mouth. He cracks me up sometimes.

Ahh, 28th I mean

Wow, you guys get to know early! I didn't find out until right before spring break.

Gotta love Dr. Snider. Sounds like you had a good interview. Don't worry about stumbling over a few questions. It happens to everyone. I'm sure you did great.

Thanks Lissarae and Cowgirla! Guess we'll all know by March.

Haha, Dr. Snider. He gets so excited about infectious diseases. 🙂

I found out on March 4 - it was the first year for them to shift things around. Interviews used to be at the end of February.

I was talking to Anna before my interview and she said they were going to change a lot of things around next year. They tested emailing for interviews and it worked out so much better than mailing so they are going to do all interview invites, accepting, and rejecting thru VMCAS next year.

I also overheard a tiny bit of a conversation about interviewing OOS people. I don't know if it was a "we are going to do it" or "we would never do it" type of convo, but after seeing your post I wonder if there are even more changes planned.

I applied OOS and I'm trying hard to keep busy and not think about it! Is it typical of them to stay pretty silent on their end until that week or so when they send out everything? I know they don't interview OOS but it's pretty nerve wracking to go this long without a peep. I guess on the bright side, there weren't any academic dq letters or initial rejections.

Yep, norm for OOS to only get yes or no in March, unless that dreaded Pre-req whoops comes in Feb. Ok state isn't even one of the last to give these out, some people are still waiting for interview news at other schools, so hang on and we'll make it through this 🙂

Even though I can't see myself living in Stillwater over Fort Collins...I'm so anxious to hear! My vet came from OK and she is BRILLIANT! Sounds like a great school.

The good news is, if you live in Stillwater, there are a lot fewer distractions?:laugh:.
I would love to live in CO someday. One of my top 5 favorite states, easily. And Fort Collins has awesome breweries and I love the outdoorsy feel.

Then again, I don't know what CSU's tuition is, but I suspect OSU's is cheaper for OOS. and cost of living is low, which is nice. And that's one of reasons I ended up here- just couldn't just the cost of other schools in "better" locations

Yeah, I was going to apply... Until I say the 56,000 price rag for OOS :O

The cost of tuition could be the deal breaker! My parents told me if I get into OK I HAVE to visit. Fortunately they are able to help with tuition cost so they are pushing for OK. And from what my vet told me, it's a quiet town but she had a lot of fun in her four years there. I just want to know!!!

Yeah, I would definitely visit and give Ok-state serious consideration if I was accepted. I'm already considering going OOS, so as far as tuition goes OSU is pretty good; quite a bit cheaper than many others.
