So, I have heard that no more acceptance offers are going out until after the final feb. interviews. This poses a question for me, how many acceptances have been sent out? They haven't updated their status page since after the oct. interviews.
yeah hearing that was a little disheartening, but I'm still trying to be positive...it's not over til it's over right? 🙂
Yes! I got my deferral in the mail today!
haha (thinking happy thoughts 🙂 no rejection letter= celebration!) anyway just glad to know I'm still in the game.
does anyone know if I should give the admissions office an official updated transcript or can I just print off an unofficial and walk it over to the BSEB?
So.... Has any other acceptees received the nifty e-mail with the c/o 2012 blog page link?
i know there are still some interviews left...my friend has hers in a few weeks!
and i can nearly guarantee she'll be getting one of those last 20 spots! she definitely has near a 4.0, i'm assuming good mcat b/c she's for sure one of the smartest and hardest workers i know, and she's instate. good luck everyone!
Her stats sound really good! How come she got such a late interview invite with such high scores? That seems kinda strange...

Although I am not sure, I think once you are deferred, you get waitlisted, not rejected. Someone (doctor bagel??) I think mentioned this in this forum topic.
Yeah, it's not a 100% guarantee or anything, but I've just never seen anybody report here that they got deferred and then rejected. Honestly, I think if they want to reject you, they know pretty much immediately.
So Dr. Hall spoke to us the other day and said there are 22 spots left. She also wanted to emphasize that being put on the waitlist is not a bad thing because historically lots of spots here are filled from the waitlist.
I actually got deferred and then rejected last year. 🙁 Maybe I just looked really hopeless last year.
And I'm sorry you guys have to wait for a whole month 'cause I know that won't be easy.I've searched the forums for this already and I can't find anything...
I've heard that admissions committee meeting for OU is open to the public, which I thought was interesting (maybe it's not really that interesting). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had actually GONE to the meeting before and what they thought about it. I don't know if the committee would hate it, like it, or not care either way. I'd like to go and see what they say about me... I've heard that people that gone before but I just don't know.
I figure either, (1) I get in and I find out without having to wait for my letter or (2) I don't get in but I get to hear what they say so I know what to change for my next attempt.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks.
What is the difference between being deferred and waitlisted?
The way I understood it was that they would send out rejections and deferral letters within 10 business days of your interview. If you don't get anything then I think you are either waitlisted or accepted. I do specifically remember her saying that no news is good news right now.I guess now, though, since they're not making official decisions until late February, you guys who are still waiting are essentially in the same position as previous interviewees who are deferred. 😕

has anyone that's interviewed this year been rejected? from what i've heard everyone who wasn't outright accepted has been deferred..just curious😕
Oh, guys, seriously, don't be shy!!! 😛
(Thanks for all the advice, too, everybody. 🙂 )
it looks like selecting the OU College of Community Medicine track (ie the last two years in Tulsa) is being included in the initial application/selection process for the class starting fall of 2008.
Well, I'm glad this thread hasn't turned into the "PreMedMommy likes to talk to herself" thread. Good luck to everyone still waiting on an answer.
i'm curious about how this might work. for the incoming class of 2008, is this the sort of thing that could affect acceptances? can acceptances be conditional on spending 3rd and 4th year in tulsa? on interview day they said that every year there are enough people who volunteer to go to tulsa that it has never needed to be mandatory for anyone, but if they are trying to meet certain enrollment goals in tulsa then it seems like they could very possibly begin making people go to tulsa.
i'm interested in both primary care and working in an underserved area, but i have no desire to move to tulsa after 2 years.
anybody have any additional info on this?
i'm not too worried about it... just curious.
