hey thanks for the info, good luck this time around

I had the formula on a sheet that they gave to the student am"badass"adors. I'm just not sure where it is. If I find it, I'll get back to ya. Also for comparison, I had a 32O MCAT and a 3.8 cum, 3.9 sci. GPA, and also, like ad_sharp, interviewed on the first week, but not the first day.

While perusing the smilies available here, I found one to be a bit disappointing in orientation.

So I give to you the new and improved horns.gif.

I won't start getting nervous about OU until mid-Nov since thats the earliest we can expect to hear anything from them. Do you recommend staying with a student host or at a hotel? I was planning on spending the night in Norman with some high school friends that go to OU and then have them drive me to OKC in the morning, or is that not a good idea?

i am an OU student and i will be staying here in norman. Its only about a 20 minute drive from campus to the HSC if traffic isnt an issue.

As long as you think you can get a decent nights sleep, do whatever. Some people like staying with a student host, but I just drove straight from Muskogee that morning (about 2 hrs), and then drove back, so I'm not a very good one to ask.

Off to the last test of the week! 👍

Just got out of that Human Behavior test. It absolutely sucked. To all the future OU students, here's a bit of advice. Don't blow of HB or it'll bite you in the arse. Although, that's not really helpful either, because it seemed like the type of test that it wouldn't really matter if you studied for an hour or for two weeks. Highly subjective and highly controversial. Anyway, I'm sitting in a mod fully of pissed off people. Thank God the course director is very favorable in returning points for unclear questions (that oughta be most of them) 🙂
The problem is that most medical students are highly logical and deal well with objective questions, such as those found in Anatomy, biochem, etc. , but Psych sux, no two ways about it.

Amen to that. I just went out and bought my costume for the post test block halloween party. I'll be a new wave 80's hair band guy. I've got the tightest pants ever and the coolest keyboard shirt and mullet that you've ever seen. It's time to party like it's 1989! 👍

I guess this thread will pick up alot more in teh next couple of weeks since the admissions office will be meeting bright and early on monday morning 😉 . furthermore, how about Adrian Peterson coming through again. Bedlam was crazy, nearly had a heart attack since OU's secondary collapsed in the 2nd half. NEvertheless, if OU wins at Texas AM and thats a very big if, im liking our chances in Miami.

An "If" no more! We whipped their arse (just barely though)!

wow get cody out if hes about to faint..
And yes OSU just got their asses handed to them by freaking texas. got my hopes up nice 4 hours wasted!

I thought that OSU would take em......bitter disappointment..........

I'm glad that we were able to barely squeek past a&m. I didn't think we were going to make it there for a second.

I didn't realize this until my uncle pointed it out yesterday, but that was only the second time we have ever won at Texas A&M.

Makes me feel pretty good considering how things finished the last time we won there. 😀

Wow, I didn't know that. I would say without a doubt that it must be the hardest place to play an away game at in the big 12. The crowd is nuts.

The past 2 weeks have been the most nerve-wrecking games ever. OU played well enough to get by. Thank GOD. Things are starting to really shape up like the 2000 natl championship season. We got lucky at Texas AM, barely beat Ok St. at their home that year and Bush won the election 😉 . Part of me though doesn't want to have any hope just cause of last years letdown in the Big 12 championship game and natl championship. The worse part of the the Texas AM game is that no sports bar in the entire city of Atlanta could pick it up on ESPN Gameplan. It was blackedout every where here which is the most absurd thing since it was the biggest game of the day. Fortunately a friend of mines has an internet gameplan account so I got to watch the game online. I just hope Adrian Peterson will be ok cause once I saw him get injured I nearly had a heart attack. The kid is a trooper and J. White took over the Heisman lead from AP. Honestly though, I am worried that our defense is starting to get too shaky and lax, it played great the 2nd half but we need to be playing 60 minutes of hellish defense if we want to win the natl championship. BOOMER SOONER and next stop the Orange Bowl!!! 😀

ps-do med students get football season tickets?

Yes, you can if you want em. Btw, are you at Emory? There's a guy in my mod whose initials are N.S. who graduated from Emory. You know him?

Boomer Sooner 😀

That A&M defense did a job on Peterson. But the streak goes on!

Thank goodness for special teams and defense!

Big 12 Championship will be the next big hurdle. Where is it this year? Not that we should overlook the next two weeks though.

Yeah i go to emory and I know N.S. 😉 . Met him last year and was very encouraging about OU Med School. Tell him Pedram from Emory says hello (he may not remember me but tell him I'm applying this year and Im from Tulsa, maybe he'll remember me then).
Can we expect to hear from OU this week or next week?

Thanks

Of course, I think that was only our seventh time to ever play there.

But that's still an interesting thing to know.

yep huge crowd, never let up during the game, probably the best crowd in the big 12. You sooners better take it all the way this year and not screw up in the big 12 championship again. Anyone coming from the north is sad and should be a blowout. I'll root for you guys now that bedlam is over 😀.
I just hope USC comes in, so they can get pounded by the sooners. The pac 10 is so overrated. Auburn is the more deserving team imo, but too bad for them i guess. Screw the BCS lets get a playoff going already ;D

Are you guys getting a little anxious about the letters coming out soon? :scared: :scared: Hopefully, you'll know by early next week about your interview.

i'm trying to not to think about it, but i do want to know that i have at least 1 interview. alot of my friends (including all my roommates) already had or have interviews. So we will hear about being accepted/waitlisted/rejected the following week of the interview?

Essentially, yes.

I'm praying for a thicker envelope this year, which reminds me.

For those that got accepted last year, what was in your acceptance "letter"? Just a single sheet announcing more to come or did it include a whole ream of stuff to sign?

Just curious... 🙄

If memory serves correctly, I think that it was just a letter with another sheet that we had to sign and return. Just one of those welcome to the club things. The larger packet didn't come for like another month, I think.

They don't mess around with making you wait. I knew like a week after the interview.

Knowing the results of your interview, depend when you interview. I interviewed late and didn't hear anything for 3 weeks (because the admissions committee has one final meeting toward the end). I also didn't get my interview date until December, so try not to panic if you haven't heard anything (but I know it's hard!).

My acceptance letter came in a thick envelope but I can't remember what all was in it.

My dad said he got the letter from OU today for an interview on Dec. 2. 😀 woohoo, my 1st interview! I was expecting a letter sometime next week, so I was a little surprised.

Hope everyone else hears some good news.

Thank you guys for the encouragement. What time do you think I will be done with the tour? Do you think if i get a flight out of OKC at 5:30, I'll be pushing it?

Thanks.

I didn't do the tour last year, and I was out of there by 1:00, I think.

I can't remember for sure, but a 5:30 departure should leave you plenty of time.

Please God send me a letter today. I didn't expect things so soon, and hearing yours came caused a wave of anxiety. Wow... :scared:

Thanks for the advice. You'll get your interview invite soon. I was honestly expecting something next week. When were you complete at OU? I had all my stuff in by august, so im wondering if thats why i heard a little earlier than expected.
Good luck.

One of my friend's letters came a week after mine last year even though there was only two days between our interviews. I know that anything I say won't help, but close your eyes, count to ten, and relax....... 😎

Do any of you know when the first day of interviews is? The first day last year was Dec 11.
