Molecular Physician-Scientist in Gastrointestinal Pathology

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota seeks a dynamic, mid-career or senior ABP board-certified/eligible anatomic pathologist with specialty training in gastrointestinal (GI) pathology. The University of Minnesota Medical School, in collaboration with the Masonic Cancer Center, a NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, has launched a cluster hire initiative in functional genomics to expand a team working to develop new technologies and models for understanding of tumor heterogeneity. The successful candidate will be expected to assume a leadership role among this group of existing faculty and future hires, and expand a comprehensive program in GI cancer spanning basic science, translational genomics, and clinical trials.
Minimum requirements are an M.D. or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certified or board eligible in AP or AP/CP, and completion of ACGME-accredited pathology residency training. Sub-specialty fellowship training is preferred. The successful candidate will be appointed into a tenured position. Academic rank and compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will have a career interest in pre-clinical and translational research as demonstrated by national, peer-reviewed funding as well and a robust publication record in the field of GI malignancies. Candidates must also have demonstrated ability in teaching in one or more specialty areas in anatomic pathology.
